Swapped Cayman for GTS

Since I turned-in my Cayman, I have been perusing '07-08 CPOed Caymans as a replacement. The lease on my LR3 is also coming-up in June, and I've been struggling with how to solve both needs/wants. Considered a '06 CPOed LR3 or RRS and a CPOed Cayman. Went to my local Porsche dealer to look at base Cayenne's as an alternative. Mentioned I would want a Manual in the Cayenne to make-up for the power deficit in the V6. The stars were aligned and I ended-up leaving with a GTS Manual with PDCC.

The truck is truly a beast. Now to see if I can find some 18" wheels, as it needs to fulfill the LR3's duties too.

Here is the dealer Pic of the truck.

Re: Swapped Cayman for GTS

I'm not an SUV fan (there I said it).
But if I was to get one, this would be on the top of my list.
Congratulations!
Very nice color too.
Is PDCC the same as PCCB?

Re: Swapped Cayman for GTS

If I ever purchase a SUV, this one is probably way up on my list as well.
Very nice.

Re: Swapped Cayman for GTS

Finally... Someone with a 6-speed GTS.

Congrats. Base 06 Cayenne with a 6-speed is fun. Yours must be a blast!

That was the most hilarious paragraph. I know what you are talking about, yet looking at it from anyone else's perspective, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Really beautiful truck though. I like the color a lot.

Re: Swapped Cayman for GTS

CheerIO,

Reading that sentence again, I agree with you.

PDCC = Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (i.e., active anit-sway bars and dampers)
LR3 = as in Land Rover LR3
RRS = as in Range Rover Sport (don't have enough head room, but really admire)

Thanks for all the kind comments and lack of derision. The GTS will be a departure for me, as I have always leaned toward things underpowered with hero killing handling. The Cayman is my ideal sportscar, and before that it was my old Miata R-package. It will be a 3 year experiment with the GTS, and by lease-end the redesigned LR3 will be out (500-1Klbs lighter with a diesel) and the 2009 Caymans will be the perfect age to buy CPO (Certfied Pre-Owned).

Be Well!

Re: Swapped Cayman for GTS

The Range Rover Sports are killer machines. And the new LR3's look amazing. But as you can see in my garage, I prefer my Land Rovers a little older.

Though a diesel would be nice.

Re: Swapped Cayman for GTS

That is a fabulous SIIa. My neighbor/friend has a (I believe) SIII 109 convertible that I lust after.

If the sunroofless RRS TDV8 was available in the US, then that would be my SUV alongside a Cayman.
