Advice on Ordering a 2010 Cayman

Hi All,

I intend to special order a MY2010 Cayman S. The car will be heavily optioned (priced out around $85k). I would like to accept delivery as soon as the 2010's start arriving in September/October(?)

Based on the foregoing, when would be the best time to negotiate and get on contract with a dealer?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Advice on Ordering a 2010 Cayman

I would start now since MY09 was a short run many people are waiting for a 2010. Also you will likely have to call a few dealers to see who is going to play ball at your specific price goal. Sounds like a pretty nice CS if you got it to $85k

It will be interesting to see what price differences there will be between 09 and 10 models and accessories.

I see that Toyota lowered the price of the 2010 Prius to match the Insight. Of course, the Insight is a direct competitor to the Prius.

Prices for 2010 models should be available in July?

According to a conversation I had with a PCNA employee at a recent event, the 2010 models will be here in December.

Thanks. This past weekend my dealer indicated that he expects to get MY2010 allocations within the next month.

Re: Advice on Ordering a 2010 Cayman

Same here. Just confirmed an order for a 2010 Cayman S (6 speed) for a June build / August delivery on the West Coast. Trouble is that the ordering system is not taking any options on the steering wheel -- can't get any variation of the sport steering wheel with the round airbag housing.

At 85K, I imagine that you got PDK . . . but if you didn't, can you tell me if you're having the same issues?

Question Re: Advice on Ordering a 2010 Cayman

I am confused, which is a normal state ..... I thought the new Caymans which just arrived in the dealers as 2009 (regular Cayman with 6 speed manual rather than 5 and S with direct injection and the PDK transmissions) were the new models .... is there going to be a difference between these and in the 2010 in less than 6 months?

No difference. The 09s received all the "NEW" features but were a short production run and the only difference in the 2010 will likely be a price bump.

Re: Advice on Ordering a 2010 Cayman

Just received word that my 2010 CS will be completed on June 2 and is scheduled for July delivery (California). Didn't realize that the 2010s would be coming off the line that early -- oh, well, at least it's a pleasant surprise.

I ordered custom paint and Im not telling anyone what it is till later but suffice to say I have never seen the colour ever, although I have seen something similar in HK.
As a result my order is pushed to 2010.
I also ordered sports steering wheel plus a LOT of options and ALL sport wheel variants are now obsolete! I cant figure that. I dont want the multifunction.
2010 price got booked on 2009 prices.
