Finally part of the Club
Well I was finally able to get my dream car: the Cayman S. My Wife woke me up the day after my birthday and said that for my birthday she was getting me my Cayman S. We have been wanting to buy one since 2006 but other matters kept getting in the way. We bought it from Walter's Porsche in Riverside, CA. They were great and made the buying process real easy. My hat is off to them. We bought a CPO 2006 Cayman S, Dark Olive Metallic, Sport Seats, Bi-Xenon Headlamps, Sport Chrono, Bose, PASM, Sport Steering Wheel. I haven't been able to stop smiling since I drove it off the lot. Here is a photo of it.

PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
|
 |
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

Hi 60N5,
Congratulations. You better get used to smiling all the time. The more I drive my CS the more I like it. I think that you'll find the same. Enjoy the car. By the way, you may want to post the photo again. It does not show on the post.

We are indeed lucky men when we have a wife that supports our passion to drive a great car like the CS - - even when it involves multiple track days! I have one of those.
Congrats on the CS. It looks great.

Re: Finally part of the Club
Thanks all. JCay I got lucky on the color since I bought used but I have to say I couldn't be happier with it. Lots of people have come up to me and said that they love the color. Your car is absolutely amazing by the way. Love it. I look forward to taking mine to the track some time but to be honest I'm a little nervous about it. I live about 15 minutes from willow springs and when I get to know the car a little better and feel more comfortable I'll go up there and really get to find out what the CS is all about.
