Deal on 2008 CS

I just received a price of $53K from a dealer for a brand new 2008CS that originally listed $68K. Based on the additional equipment below does it sound like a great deal? The warranty was punched back in June of 2008.

Carrera White
810 - Floor Mats in Interior Color
680 - Bose High End Sound Package
446 - Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
342 - Heated Front Seats
P12 - Self-Dim Mirrors & Rain Sensor
PPA - Preferred Package
P77 - Leather Sport Seats
P74 - Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package
XLA - Chrome Exhaust Pipe
407 - 19" Sport Design Wheel
573 - Automatic Climate Control
692 - Remote CD Changer (6 Disc)

I appreciate the input!

Re: Deal on 2008 CS

I'm looking for a used one, to make sure any issues are already fixed (no dealers around), but have seen several brand new '08s with $15K off MSRP, so yes, it's a heck of a deal, but definitely not unheard of.

If that's exactly the car you want, and you want new, then I'd definitely jump on it man. It's not going to get any better than that IMO. If you want a different color or option(s), keep looking because there're many around. Also try cars.com. It's usually useless IMO, but not for the Cayman. And if you find a pristine used one ('06-'08) at a great price while you're shopping, please let me know . Good luck.

Re: Deal on 2008 CS

I have heard of deals with 20K off. With almost a year of warranty gone, I bet you can do better than 53K.

I got mine for $50k, but it has an option or two less, so option for option we are about the same. My warranty was also a year old. I got the dealership to kick in an extended warranty! Its now covered for 7 years 70,000 miles at no cost to me. Thats a few thousand dollars in my favor I think.

Warranties begin when a car is sold for the first time, regardless of age or mileage. Even demos will get a full warranty when first sold and the mileage warranteed is in addtion to the miles already on it. For instance, a demo with 10K on it will have a warranty the 36K or 48K warranty in addition to the 10K already on it.

Not true. Warranties begin when they are "punched". PCNA will contribute some cash to the dealer when they punch a warranty. It used to be that the warranty always began with the sale of the vehicle, as a way of rewarding the dealer for the sale, but not so anymore.

Re: Deal on 2008 CS

Dec 29th, 2007 - leased a CS with near same list of equip. Sticker ~ $67.7 USD. Got over $13K off sticker, with full warranty. Suggest you press for a better deal and full warranty. Have enjoyed the CS beyond my dreams!

Re: Deal on 2008 CS

I appreciate everyone's input. I put the deal on hold based on what they offered me for my 2006 CS.

I knew I would take a hit but $25K for a well optioned CS is ridiculous!

Re: Deal on 2008 CS

25k is ridiculous but OTOH, so is 53k for a "new" 68k car... A mid-mileage (25k or so) 06 CS should be about 29-31k at trade-in.
