"find out what others really paid"

I have no idea if this is good data or not (too few cars sold in my zip code) but it might be fun for some New Prices and Dealer Invoice and Cost

Re: "find out what others really paid"

It's another source of information, so thanks!

Any smart buyer is going to use several sources like Edmunds, Cars.com, Ebay, Autotrader, etc to decide what they think is a "good price" for a car.

Re: "find out what others really paid"

It is like 14-15% off the MSRP. Did anyone actually has this discount? It's like a fully loaded Cayman S 2009 costs down from 85K too 73K.

Re: "find out what others really paid"

Having discussed pricing with several other owners, both locally and up and down the west coast, I've never found anyone that got pricing on a current model year CS like this site portrays as "average". Their average price was what new '07s seemed to be going for in '08. I wonder where they got their data?

Also, be careful on that site - the sticker price on options is not always correct. An example is the Universal (USB/iPod) interface, which is off by over $300 IIRC.

Re: "find out what others really paid"

Looking at the 09 with the following options:

# SPORT CHRONO PACKAGE PLUS
$960 Sticker Price
# ARCTIC SILVER METALLIC
$710 Sticker Price
# 7-SPEED PORSCHE DOPPELKUPPLUNG (PDK) AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
$3,420 Sticker Price
# PORSCHE ACTIVE SUSPENSION MANAGAMENT
$1,990 Sticker Price
# BI-XENON HEADLIGHTS W/DYNAMIC CORNERING LIGHTS
$1,560 Sticker Price
# LIMITED SLIP REAR DIFFERENTIAL LOCK
$950 Sticker Price

The price of the 09 Cayman S with with these specs is $70,000, with the dealer's invoice at $60,000. That's 15% off. If any dealer wants to sell me an 09 Cayman S for 15% off, I'll buy another Cayman S right now cash.
