This is my first post here and I have to say this is a great site. I have learned alot from the FAQs and many informative posts.

So I'm looking to buy a 2010 Cayman S and was told by my sales guy (in Austin, TX) that that I wouldn't be able to get a build until november for december delivery. I mentioned to him this site and how many have posted about getting June and september builds. He said Porsche had cut back production quite a bit and no one was getting any builds. He also mentioned they were number 3 in sales for the region and if anyone got any allocations they would. They will not even have the 2010 order guides until late June.

So what is the real story here? Am I being misinformed? To give him the benefit of the doubt he might have meant any allocations for his region. I would like to keep the sale in Austin but am thinking about calling other dealerships in TX to see if they all have the same story.

Definately try other dealers. They may have allocations available this dealer doesn't. It doesn't hurt to ask.

I searched for 3 weeks and finally got one for one of my clients due in october... i doubt i will see one earlier other than the july cars that i built a few weeks ago.

Call around, you might get something a little earlier, but this sounds like the real situation. Many others are saying they're getting the same answers from their prospective dealers.
