What Tires on coming on 2008 Caymans?

With all the talk about trying to find N-rated Michelin PS2's, I'm curious what tires on coming on new (2008) Caymans and Cayman S's. My CS I took delivery of 2 days ago came with Bridgestone Potenzas. Perhaps K-Man can set up a poll?

Are the Potenzas as good as the PS2's. My car arrives in about a month so I am very interested.

I'm a big fan of the Mich PS2, but I'm also someone who likes to try other things to see how good they are. Actually I've heard some good things about the Potenzas, but would actually like to try the SportContact3's. They are supposed to be quite a bit better than the old 2s which are very long in tooth now.

I guess I should have mentioned that my 08 CS is configured with 19" Sport Design Wheels...in case wheel size is a factor in Porsche deciding what tires to outfit a given C or CS with.

Note that Tire Rack sells the Bridgestone Potenzas for significantly less than the Michelin PS2's.

Bridgestone's: $237 front/$265 rear (both N0 rated)
Michelin PS2's: $315 front/$352 rear (both N1 rated)

I don't understand the diff, if there is one, between N0 and N1 rated, but both listed above are considered OEM.

BTW, the Continentals (ContiSportContact 2) are a little cheaper than the Bridgestones.

Looks like 19" wheels get the Bridgestone and 18" wheels get the Michelin PS2's

According to my salesman, Porsche has 3 suppliers, Continental, Michelin, Bridgestone. What tires you get is the luck of the draw. It was not possible to request a specific tire brand.

I concur, you cannot specify the brand of tires. If you are lucky you maybe able to negotiate with your dealer assuming that he has another car with the same wheels as you but the brand of tire you prefer.

However, my 19" black wheels were somewhat more difficult and I was therefore stuck. I have Conti's on my car and I must say they are my least preferred tire. We have 17" Bridgestone's on our other Boxster S and I can't fault them.
