Does Porsche 'goop' ruin the TPMS sensors?

I'm a bit paranoid before posting on this board, but read searches over an hour, with every word combination I could think of, and nothing. Even PMed a member for an answer but he didn't have TPMS. This way future searches will bring up this thread for a quick answer.

So yes or no? If putting that slime is going to cost me another $150 for a new TPMS sensor, will leave it as a last resort. Thanks.
JC

Re: Does Porsche 'goop' ruin the TPMS sensors?

Last year at a PCA tech session held at a local tire/wheel shop, we were told yes, using the goop would mean a new sensor...

That's what I figured; thanks Pete.

Guess it makes sense to pack a motorcycle (tubeless) tire repair kit and a towel, so we can get on our backs (especially if puncture is inboard) to plug the tire. And leave the goop as a backup. Take care.

Re: Does Porsche 'goop' ruin the TPMS sensors?

I was told that it may not only ruin your tpms but he said he would have to charge me an hour and a half to clean the wheel. He said it would be cheaper to pay for a tow to a dealer. Only exception was an EXTREME emergency.

Re: Does Porsche 'goop' ruin the TPMS sensors?

I thought the reason that you used the Porsche goop is that it won't ruin the sensors (unlike the cheap auto store stuff). Same with BMW.

Can anyone actually confirm one way or the other?

Note, the manual says:
Do not use commercially available sealant or
tire inflating bottles. Use only the tire sealant
located in the luggage compartment.
