Different types of tires for the front

So I got a flat today.. need to replace the front right tire. Apparently they can't get the same tire because its being phased out. They say the front tires should be the same so I'd need to get two new front tires.

Is it OK to just get one new tire? Its the same make/model but a newer version with a new N rating. I don't know if this is dangerous or whatnot.. I know Porsche doesn't recommend this . What do you guys think ?

thanks

Re: Different types of tires for the front

I would at least want the pair, whether the front or back to be the same.

Also... how old is the remaining front tire? Unless it's new, or almost new, I wouldn't take a chance and just buy two new tires.

If the remaining tire is new, check the internet... I'm sure there has to be one somewhere.

Re: Different types of tires for the front

What make of tires? Is the tread depth difference between the two greater than 30%?
Handling maybe compromised depending on the wear and differences. Checking with the manufacture on the significance of the changes might help too.
