Scratched a rim on a curb

I scratched a rimm on a curb. Bummer! Are there any touch up paints, or any other remedy to make the rim look better?

Thanks in advance

They call that rim rash and I understand some shops repair them, kind of like the same people that repair dents and do other automobile work, detailing, etc.

I had that happen with my BMW passenger side rims, and I hated it. I am so careful now it isn't even funny. However I put a small dent in my left front rim when I hit a pothole. It did not scratch anything just a very slight buldge in the side. Honestly I do no know how it did not pop the tire, because in order to dent it, it must have compressed the tire to a wedge in that area.

I think I will try to get a pic of it, and post it.

if it's just a rub, there are lots of wheel guys who can grind it smooth. cost $80-$120 per wheel, more or less. ask your service guy for a rec. I had that happen a few times on my last car ... none yet on my croc ...

Echo hubble15's comment. It happened to my BMW 330Ci rim when it was 2 months old.
My dealer recommended a wheel repair guy and I didn't know what he did, but it looked
new after the repair, which was amazing for $100 worth of work.

Check with your Porsche dealer or another high end car dealer re: who does their alloy wheel repairs. If it's not too bad, it can be repaired with the tire still mounted.

If you're handy, here's a DIY repair link: Autopia's <span class="BodyHeading">Repairing Painted Wheel Curb Scratches[/quote]

Jaime,

You can get the wheel fixed and resprayed at 'El Frances'. A cheaper option would be 'Gomera GOVI', they are also getting into the wheel fixing business. Lucky the Cayman wheels do not have an exotic gray color like gun metal and the like from BMWs.

Good luck..
