Anyone purchased these?

Porsche Chrome Lug Bolts & Wheel Locks -BRAND NEW:eBay Motors (item 320385870695 end time Nov-15-09 05:28:31 PST)

I know many people rate the Booth Designs bolts, but these are considerably cheaper.

Any reason why they are so much cheaper, eg strength of materials etc?

What's the old saying about getting what you pay for? I don't know anything about this company or their products, but I do know that Ralph Boothe makes a top notch product, has top notch service (even when in the hospital), and is a sponsor of this website, hence I would lean towards buying from a proven supplier. There may be nothing wrong with these, they may buy in such huge quantities from China or wherever that they can offer super low pricing. Are they going to be around in the future? What are their warranty terms like? How do they handle warranty claims? Any pictures of these from actual customer cars that have been on more than a year and exposed to the elements? etc. etc. Too many variables to really know for sure, could turn out to be just fine, could turn out to be a waste of time. You might call Ralph just to ask him how his bolts are the same or differet from these, what his warranty is like, etc. so you have something to compare to this offering.

+1 on the boothe's bolts. I was just there today. He is a very nice man and you can tell he is very passionate about porsche's and the product he sells. I was fortunate enough to see his collection in his garage as i drove by . He hand picks all of the bolts before shipping them out to ensure you get the best quality you pay for.

One other point, the ebay bolts are one piece. The radius is part of the bolt, so the bolt torques on the rim instead of the 2-piece OEM design which is I think the same way Boothe makes his. I am ordering the Boothe bolts.

Purchased Boothe Chrome bolts in 2006, they are still perfect after 40,000 miles. I mean perfect.

+4 or whatever the count is up to now. I put Boothe chrome bolts on mine and they are top notch!

There's a good chance that lug bolts not manufactured in the USA or another "first world" country are "under graded" . I know for sure this is true for hardware from China. You get what you pay for! Buy from Boothe.

Thought I would bump this old post up. I actually tried the ebay chrome wheel bolts from LA Wheel and in spite of what the ad says, they do not fit Porsches. They are 14x1.5 and the proper length BUT the ball seat is the wrong taper and diameter - way too small. Our cars are R14 ball seat and the LA wheel chrome bolts are like R12 (for Mercedes, I think?). I hope they stop advertising them as fitting Porsches because someone is going to get hurt! Very dangerous.

*** I have Boothe chrome bolts & 5 mm spacers on my 2007 CS. They're top quality & look great on the stock 18" wheels.
I can tell you for a fact that hardware made in China is below grade... Grade 5 does not meet grade 5 SAE spec!!!

A less expensive and IMHO better alternative is to install wheel studs and get chrome nuts. Much easier to mount the wheels with this arrangement.
