19 inch Carrera Sport size discrepancy?

I have been looking at the 19 inch 10 spoke Carrera Sport wheels for the 2005-20008 Boxster/Cayman models and noticed that the rear tire size is noted at 10 inches but is larger for the 997. However, I was checking the specs for this wheel on the Porsche website car configurator for the 987.2 models and it lists these wheels and being 11.5 inches wide for the rears?? Does anyone think this is incorrect or do the 987.2 models have larger wheel wells or differents offset to accomodate the wider wheel?
-thanks

Re: 19 inch Carrera Sport size discrepancy?

Check the FAQ here: Planet-9 - FAQ: Cayman Options

For the Boxster/Cayman, for the years you specify, the fronts are 8.5" and the rears are 9.5". The only exception is the rear for the Carrera Sport, which is 10".

I can't speak to the size for the 997, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was a bit larger. In fact, I think I recall hearing something along those lines.

Likewise for the 987.2, I can't speak for them, but 11.5 seems out of whack. A similar mistake was made in the 2005-2008 timeframe, where the Carrera Sport were listed as 11" or 11.5" or something, when they are really 10". I think what may be happening is the 11.5" size might be for the 997, mistakenly showing up on the Cayman.

Re: 19 inch Carrera Sport size discrepancy?

This is a mistake on the configurator... the Carrera Sport wheels for the 987.2 models are 10" wide - just like the 987.1.

Thanks for the info. I thought that may be the case but just wanted to check.
