Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Anyone running these as yet? I know they have been out for only a few days.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Someone on another board reported that he saw them mounted on new 911's at the factory in Germany. I wonder if new Cayman's will come with them.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Anxiously looking for real world reviews as well. I plan on getting mine in late June when my workload calms down.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

I just ordered a set tonight in standard 18" OEM size. I should have them on my car beginning of May.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Not currently and unlikely to be rated for existing models with the exception of the 997.2 Turbo S.

Porsche GB have been playing hard ball with regards to warranty inspections. Given this, it is also unlikely that Porsche (albeit partnered with the tyre manufacturer), they will turn a blind eye to any car presented for inspection with non N rated MPSS as they have with other tyres in the past.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Had a set of non- N spec 18" installed yesterday. Will post more when they get some miles on them. N spec' after market" not available at this time

4/22 Have about 150 miles on them. Seem to be quiet & ride nice with stock PSI setting.Haven't tried any serious "handling" yet.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Knowing that I will need replacement tires for my 997.2 sometime this summer, and likely before the Porsche Parade in Savannah in August, I picked up a set while the rebate was in effect. The rebate just about offset the shipping cost of this purchase. They now sit in storage awaiting the right time for the change over. I also figured that supplies are now at their peak, and I didn't want to be caught out with a need to replace, in a short time frame, and my sizes back ordered at the critical time.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Hopefully they will come out with more sizes, they don't currently make 265/35/19 for rear of Cayman's.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Installed a set of 18" in OEM size on my 05 Boxster S.
The only comment I can make so far is they look very good and the ride and noise level are superior to the PS2's they replaced. Hope to get them on the open road soon to see how they handle.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Got a set installed on my 08 Cayman S on Tuesday.

I've only put about 60 miles on them so far, but they are a noticeable improvement over the PS2's. The grip is unreal. At the same time, the ride feels smoother and more forgiving.

Driving the Cayman with them has been a revelation and brings me back to how I felt when I first got the car back in 08.

I've been extremely pleased with the Super Sports so far.

Re: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

Break them in for a couple hundred miles and then give us another report.

What size did you go with? Do they now have them for the rear of the Cayman?
