I actually don't have a C4 anymore, but when I compare it to the CS it is heavier not as evenly balanced (I think that is what you mean when you say loose). At least you were able to stay in the Porsche family while accomodating your son I remember many rides in the back of my Dad's 911's.
If your C4 does not have PASM, and you want it a little stiffer, try a set of Champion Sport springs. It will also give it a nice looking stance. You could also add thicker anti-sway bars to help with cornering stabilty without sacrificing ride quality.
