I'm ex navy too. I actually was in the nuke program, but changed to become a ET. Do you ever go for joy rides. Lets go sometime.

I agree. I don't know exactly where GM wants to take the Corvette but it really has changed direction. I did see those posts you talked about, and it reassurd me I was correct to make the decision not to wait for the C7. I have a (what's the opposite of a warm fuzzy) feeling that the C7 is going to have some serious teething issues. Along with what you mentioned, the new LT1 engine with all the cylinder deactivation along with other new, for GM, electronics, just makes me shiver.
The plus to all this trepidation was the discovery of our Boxsters. The last time I REALLY had fun with a car was a Miata we had about 11 years ago. Not to say the Z wasn't fun, but on the street, I hated the say I had to drive it, like I had a raw egg under my accelerator pedal foot. You know all the pluses to the BS so I don't need to explain what I mean. But my curiosity means I will keep tabs on the C7, but like you, I don't see one in my future.

There are some interesting close-ups of the C7 interior on CF. Doesn't look all that impressive to me. Lots of plastic with rough seams, very poor quality carpeting that looks like astroturf, and some obvious poor fit and finish. I hope the final production version will look better, but this isn't a good sign. Also, some of the guys who've sat in them are saying visibility out back and to the sides is very poor.

There are also lots of pictures of the car out in natural light, taken at various shows. I have mixed feelings about the styling, but it looks very gimmicky and overdone to me ... especially compared to the simple lines of the Boxster. I don't see a C7 in my future any time soon.

Thanks for your greetings. I am happy to be here and not on CF. I get my car the 2 or 3rd weekk of July. Sorry for the delayed response. I look forward to being active on Planet 9 after I get my car. Again thanks for the greeting.

Welcome B Bob, you will see a completely different atmosphere over here than at C7 forum. It's actually quite civil here. StanNH from the forums is here also.

Marty. I just arrived from Corvette Forum where I was Colorado C6. I notice you were on Corvette Forum also. Glad to now be on Planet 9.
