Re: Front License Plate Bracket
Dag nabbit.. I just bought one 2 weeks ago.
It is a very nice unit and incredibly easy to install. It took me longer to read the directions than it did to do the actual work.
I highly recommend this product. And no I am not a paid actor

Re: Front License Plate Bracket
I can vouch for the quality of this product. One thing nice is the ease of removal, 2 wingnuts.
I trimmed the sides of one frame, and put it on the back

Re: Front License Plate Bracket
Can this be configured so the plate rides above the opening so it does not block the center radiator on cars that are fitted with one ie, a TPC turbo?

Not sure, no one has tried that yet. It's looks like it's possible.

Re: Front License Plate Bracket
I don't think it can be done with the way the inlet is on the front of the Porsche. The top of the inlet has a slope to it, so unless the bracket that attaches has a similarly shaped slope, and/or with the screws angled just right so they end up pointing straight up and down, it would difficult.
Someone needs to get hold of a tiptronic and see.
By the way, the picture shows the bracket being attached to the top of the opening, and this is not what works on the CS. It has to be attached to the lower edge of the opening. Due to that part of the opening being flat.

Re: Front License Plate Bracket
Do you have to remove the grille on the 2009 CS?

Is the grille on the 09 any different than the 08? If not then no you would not need to remove it.

I first saw the Top Flight bracket on pictures of RobMason's car and i liked it. Now that I've installed mine I'm even more impressed. I really like the way the frame follows the curve of the bumper. Obviously I'd rather not use a plate at all, but if one has too, there's no better way to get the thing "tucked" up close to the body... while actually touching nothing important on the body. When and if the laws are changed, I'll be able to remove it and have no visible marks to indicate there ever was a plate attached. Super!
Thanks Rob and Peter

I like the way the Top flight frames blend with the white, but since I have silver I decided to try something a bit different. I tried a no frame look (which I like), but it looked like something was missing in this case. A black frame looked like I had outlined my plate with a felt tip marker. I didn't want chrome... so I ordered a Porsche Slimline License Plate Frame in Polished Stainless Steel (PNA-703-003-03). The stainless steel look seems to blend nicely with the paint, wheels, etc.
I CAREFULLY bent the frame to match the curve of the Top Flight bracket. I used the attachment bolts from the TF bracket, but added the little trap door covers from the Porsche frame... eliminating the lock washer to make it fit. I'm so pleased with the results that I think I don't mind having the front plate on anymore.
I do have one "concern" and that is regarding the fact that only the rear half the sticky strip from the TF bracket actually comes in contact with the bottom of the center air duct. But so far it seems to be staying stuck.
As Rob says, if for any reason I want it gone... 2 wing nuts.

NIce work. I like your color combination. You are right, no more worries. No holes, Plate comes off in 30 seconds, it you want to do a photoshoot, or are afraid of car wash snagging it, on the track, etc. Just make sure you have got a foam strip behind the top of the plate to prevent the plate from contacting the body at speed.
Looks nice. I am in the process of using this frame on my 135i BMW.
