Hello, New to Porsche, New to Cayman, last Car Z4M. Bought the Cayman but no Manual or 2nd and 3rd keys. Low miles 6K but rear tires will only last 2K more by my estimate. My questions, How do I know if this car has TPMS or not? Also, How do I open the engine bay?. Will changing the oil void my warranty? Thanks a ton in advance. Ilyushin
I think the simplest way to determine if you have TPMS is to look at your valve stems: if they are rubber, then you don't have TPMS; if they are metal, then you probably have TPMS sensors. You should also be able to bring up the TPMS screen on your info center with the control stalk, if you have TPMS.
Just changing the oil will not void your warranty (at least so long as you are replacing it with a Porsche-recommended oil e.g. Mobil 1 0W-40). I'd advise keeping a record with receipts for your oil/filter purchases, etc. however, just in case.
If you do a bit of exploring, especially under Files, Articles, and FAQ, you will find a wealth of info on just about anything you want to know about your Cayman, for example here is a link to the 2006 Owners Manual for download.
