Re: Our Professionally Raced Sway bars are back in stock for the 987

Boys and girls....These bars ROCK!

I've got a stock PASM suspension with a little bit of extra camber and a set of NT-01s for track days. I went to R/A last year for a few laps teaching for a March of Dimes event there and taught at Rites of Spring at Putnam Park in April. The car was good, but didn't feel confident around the track. It would change its line mid-corner and require steering inputs to catch the rear.

My "A group" Student had an identical CS to mine with identical NT-01s in the same size as mine. His car felt completely confident and just flat amazing on track. The ride felt no stiffer than mine and was even more comfortable on the track than my car. I grilled him to find out what he'd done to his car and the only difference we could come up with was the TPC bars.

The difference in handling between our two cars was enough to cause me to buy the last set of TPC bars with a pair of their "quiet links" for the street on the front. The car uses the stock rear links. Sure enough, following Casey's recommendations for setting the bars, I now have a balanced, great handling Cayman S.

I have not changed my alignment settings to his recommended ones yet. The car is working well with -2 zero toe in front and -1.8 zero toe in back. I'll probably leave it like this for my upcoming highway trip and change when I get home.

This is the best single mod I've made for my car (aside from stuffing my Bose subwoofer with poly batting...That only cost me $10 and made a night and day difference in my sound system.)

I know you can get bars for less elsewhere, but I think you'd be fooling with them for years before you got them to do what these do out of the box. As you may have gathered, I highly recommend these bars. Good stuff is worth the money. They are great on the street for normal driving too.

Lowered with drop links in the back etc would be even more fun, but I get ground clearance for street driving and a decent ride for touring with wifey. Everybody wins with this setup! If you want a great street car with decent ride qualities that has real stability turning real hard, these bars are the ticket.

I was thinking about getting coil-overs and lots of other expensive stuff to try and iron out the cornering issues. These bars did the trick. Saved me a bunch of bucks and pain. Bravo!

Re: Our Professionally Raced Sway bars are back in stock for the 987

Just bought a set of TPC sway bars & drop links for my '05 Boxster S. Installation is pretty straightforward (really easy in the back, fussy but not difficult in the front) and the quality of the parts is excellent. Both Tom and Josh at TPC are accessible and really helpful; they took time to listen to my needs and explain in great detail what to expect from a set of TPC bars.

One small link assembly snafu was quickly rectified via overnight. As you no doubt know, these are not the least expensive sway bars/links on the market. But from my initial dealings with the guys at TPC I think they're well-engineered, race-tested, and well supported by knowledgeable people you can get ahold of. (They're very quick to respond to email, too. No waiting days to find out if they even got your email.) You do get what you pay for in product, service, and support.

I'll be using them for the first time this coming weekend for some open lapping and a PCA D.E. (at MidAmerica Motorplex). Will report on the handling, etc., afterward.

Re: Our Professionally Raced Sway bars are back in stock for the 987

After my first PCA D.E. with the new TPC sway bars and end links, all I can say is that I really, really like them. The car turns in more precisely, holds a set and is much more neutral at mid-corner and exit and I turned in my best lap time so far at MidAmerica Motorplex (1:48.6) yesterday.

The car feels much more planted and neutral; it's much more predictable near its limits and it responds precisely to small inputs. Transitions are very smooth and solid, the car gets far less upset.

Perhaps just as important (if not more so for suspension mods), Tom Chan at TPC offers terrific and enthusiastic support of his products. I spoke to him today about how the car felt in various corners, about tire wear, etc. and he took time suggesting small changes to alignment and tire pressures. You don't just bolt their products up and hope for the best. They are interested in giving you the benefit of their racing experience and helping you learn about what works and what doesn't on your car.

TPC is first rate, give them a try if you're serious about sways. Are they cheap? No, nothing valuable ever is.

I've put a set of these on my Cayman S and logged thousands of street miles and a few track days with them. I have to say, I love the way my car feels with the TPC bars.

After a few more track days, I'll write up my impressions more completely.

Peter,

Thank you so much for your kind words!

We're so happy that you were able to improve your laptimes! What was your previous best?

We are proud to provide our customers with the best products and support we possibly can. As you said, we are definitely not the type of shop to just bolt on the parts and send you on your way. We want feedback from our customers so that we can help them improve, and so that they can help us improve!!!!

If you ever need some setup help with our suspension parts, or just some advice about your Porsche, we are always happy to help!
