Re: TPC Racing Suspension Sale!

Tom Chan at TPC has them right now. They're putting on stiffer springs and new valve shims, new camber plates and hopefully they're on the car in a week or two. Too bad it's 15 degrees and a foot of snow outside.

Spring can't come soon enough for me!

Rotaz:

Option 2 is for people who have bought Bilstein Damtronic already. Option 2 is just changing existing Damptronics to Option 1.

I want these sooo bad.

Re: TPC Racing Suspension Sale!

It is a great setup... one of my clients w/a C4S just had the conversion done. I have ridden in countless Caymans w/this setup as well.

Re: TPC Racing Suspension Sale!

So if you get these corner balancing the coilovers is not neccessary sine they will already be track tuned? So the normal mode will be like the current sport mode?

Rotaz:

I've HEARD from others that the TPC 3+ Normal setup is not as stiff as Sport Mode on the stock PASM. It's in between Normal and Sport, but with better damping and spring rates so it feels better. Not harsh. Still, it's got to be kinda busy on some of the pathetic roads around here.

The stock PASM Sport setting feels ridiculous on some roads. Sure, they should fix the roads, but you can only yell that so many times to your tachometer!

Does any of this apply to a PASM equipped car?

Stage 3+ is only for PASM cars. The Bilstein Damptronic system is a two-way system just like PASM but the shocks damp better and are a bit stiffer. TPC worked with them and found the spring rates to be lousy in front. They work them over and make the car feel balanced.

Did I mention I want that setup real bad?

Re: TPC Racing Suspension Sale!

So a PASM equipped car could go with this setup (Pro Race Sway Bars & Adjustable Drop Links) and ride and handle better?

Sixisenuff, have I got this right?

You got that right.

The bars will work with either suspension, but I know for a fact that they work great with PASM. Bars have 5 settings. Recommended setting is middle in front and full soft in back using "quiet" adjustable links. You just use stock in back. This setup is great for track and for low speed corners. There is a slight ride penalty on washboard roads. My car does not like these roads no matter what, so it's not much sacrifice....a very reasonable trade-off. In the off season, I moved both bars to full soft, didn't like that so moved the front to soft plus one and it's great for very pedestrian use. Still nicer turning than stock.

If you get the quiet links, it's not recommended to set the bars stiffer than middle setting in front, full soft in back. If you get the race links, you can set them where ever you want, but you have to put up with a bit of noise. I went that sort of route on my M3 for years and the car never got driven. Recommended settings are so good, I probably will never change them.

Before my first track event, I'll put the front back to the middle setting when I change my pads and wheels. Bar will stay there all summer. This is a GREAT setup and the best single suspension improvement I've seen on any car I've owned.

Re: TPC Racing Suspension Sale!

I don't think I understand what "quiet"links are. Will you clarify for me? Do you feel these changes are worthwhile for street use only?

Re: TPC Racing Suspension Sale!

The "quiet links" are OEM links that are modified to be adjustable... Therefore they make absolutely no noise, just like the factory ones on your car. The "race" links, no matter whether we run the boots shot with grease or not, will still make noise. Just part of having a part that is that durable and void of rubber.

You technically can 3+ a non Pasm car. we do the same modifications to the front struts that we do to the damptronic struts, but we do not reprogram the pasm box.

I dont race or track my personal cars... every car that I own, including my Porsche has some form of adjustable sway bars. When set correctly they add traction to both front and rear axels and also significantly reduce body roll. I would say they are a must.

Re: TPC Racing Suspension Sale!

The solid links with boots & grease are much quieter than than without. Not completely silent like stockers but much better. One of the best mods I've done for the $$.

+1, I might (might) be the original boots-and-grease modifier with the TPC links and I shoot mine with a little grease every now and then (swapping brake pads/wheels for the track, etc.) The almost never make any noise/chattering. I've forgotten about them.

Re: TPC Racing Suspension Sale!

Thank you Peter. I read your posts on the boots & knew I had to have them. The clanking was making me nuts but I've seen a couple of stock link failures on the track so I put up with it. The car is so awesome on the street with the damptronics, bars & quiet solid links
