Question Advice and Recommandation Needed for Parts Installation in Hawaii/808

Dear fellow members,

Hello everyone!! I am a new member of this Cayman Club, and I am getting my new Cayman S pretty soon, but I really need help for referrals for installations of Porsche OEM short shift, and red tail lights. Does anyone know any reputable Porsche installer/service shop in Honolulu, Hawaii, that can install the above besides the dealership?? The dealership quoted me $480 for installing the short shift and red tail lights. I don't know if Well, I thought it might be wise to ask around for advice and referral before going to the only dealer. Your advice will greatly be appreciated.

I'm sure you mean $480 for each installation, otherwise, $480 for both would be a steal.

Thanks for the reply! Actually, I am supplying the OEM parts, and dealer quoted me for installation labor. $360 labor charge for installing the short shift, and $120 labor charge for installing the red tail lights.

Firstly, congratulations on your new Cayman you recently bought the midnight blue one, correct? That is a pretty fair price plus the parts and installation are covered by the factory warranty and you also have the piece of mind that it was done right.

Hi Ash,

Thank you for your advice and recommandation!! I will seriously consider to have these done by the dealership; however, I am just seeking advice from other members of this club just to see my options are. Moreover, since I am new to this club, I just want to make some cayman friends here.

Why not install the tail lights yourself? I've never looked at the Cayman tail lights, but it couldn't be that hard. For a short shift, you can go to Motor Werkes off Ward or German Auto Specialists off Nimitz.
