Cancer Center
hey aflau, there's an article in the advertiser about the interim director of the cancer research center of hawaii. the article indicated that at one time, the center had 33 researchers but now only has 12. i guess that you're one of the 12 that are still there.
hope the interim director is successful in reinvigorating the center.

Yeah, I saw it too, thanks. It's coming down to the "last man/woman standing". Only my problem, born and raised in the islands, but educated elsewhere, is that I don't want to live elsewhere! Neither does my sweetie.

Re: Cancer Center
Hey I'll move to Hawaii to run a cancer center, don't have any such experience, but for an all expense paid trip I'm willing to learn.

you should submit your application to the search committee. i understand that although they have an interim director, they're looking for a permanent one. perhaps aflau can provide you with more information...and who knows, if you move here, the next croctoberfest could be in honolulu....

Re: Cancer Center
Thanks, I re-read what I had posted earlier and was hoping you wouldn't think that I was being trite or making light of what you do, I have the deepest respect for the medical community and often wonder if I should have gone into a medical field but I am thinking that at my age it is too late to do anything about it. I am, however, told that I am very good at managing things, heck just look at Croctoberfest...

That's kinda funny because I am on the road again, staying in a Hyatt this week, but was talking to a woman at the airport who was headed to the Holiday Inn and needed to know where to catch her shuttle bus. Hyatt is nice, but pricey, about to hit the sack so ask me in the morning if I am refreshed.

There is an Attorney here in Orlando that is Also an MD. He has TV commercial running all the time. Slight over achiever.
