No longer a Cayman owner ...
The 2007 Arctic Silver Cayman is no longer in my possession; it went back home to POH yesterday.
I picked up the remaining Boxster RS60 from Ash. It's not the 911 I was looking for but after driving a couple of Carrera S cabs with Tiptronic and a 09 Carrera cab with PDK I found I liked the dynamics and feel of the Boxster (and Cayman) more than the iconic 911. The only thing I gave up were the back seats but I ended up saving enough that I could get another car, if needed.
My wife thought she'd be sad to see our Cayman go but she thinks the RS60 is even nicer and rides better. I don't care for the 19" Sport Design wheels but PASM has made all the difference. I was surprised at how different the cars are; the 6spd feels so different from the 5spd and the clutch is lighter too.
Ah, fresh air motoring ... it's like being back on a motorcycle!

PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
|
 |
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

Thanks to all; so far this change has been a tonic to my soul ... I'm just so much more relaxed after a drive with the top down. As much as I loved the Cayman, the dark (black) interior felt cave-like. Of course, the RS60 with the top up is pretty closed in but the view to the right-rear is better. The only downside to date is that I can't carry two golf bags in the trunk; at least not without changing to much smaller bags. Oh well, my passenger has to carry his bag in his lap.
As to Samwy's search, I see someone posted a set for trade on March 26 in the classifieds. Even though I don't like the Sport Designs, I'm planning to keep them in case I don't keep the car - the next owner might want the original wheels.

Re: No longer a Cayman owner ...
I would have never considered a Boxster out of ignorance. This was pre-Cayman, of course. Now I would love an RS60 or that Magnificent Orange LE.
I wonder how many Cayman owners are in the same boat? Now that we know.
