Also no longer a Cayman owner.
I took delivery of my Basalt Black/Carrera Red '09 911 C2S Cab a little over a month ago thanks to the efforts of Ash down at PoH (thanks Ash!). I would've said something earlier but I've been having too much fun out on the road, stopping occasionally to take pictures.
More pics in this thread on the Planet Porsche 997 boards. Or scroll down here.
I'm a little bit more tan and crispy thanks to our island sun (though I've been getting into the habit now of putting on sunscreen). Funny thing - the second day I had the car, I was so excited that I drove around the entire island but forgot to put on suncreen! That was probably the happiest sunburn of my life though, haha.
I look forward to seeing you guys around. I signed up for the PCA a few months ago but will most likely attend the cruise at the end of this month as my first Porsche Club event.

Re: Also no longer a Cayman owner.
Congratulations on acquiring the car I named "El Diablo". It's a real beauty! Did you turn in a silver CS? How do you like the PDK?

Re: Also no longer a Cayman owner.
PDK is brilliant, especially in conjunction with the 3.8 liter flat six. No, I turned in an '08 Black Cayman base, though I did see a silver CS at the dealership when this car was in servicing a few days ago.

Re: Also no longer a Cayman owner.
Congratulations on the new cabrio. It looks beautiful. I guess that Porsche's plan to use the Boxster and Cayman as entry level cars and then hook you on the 911 actually works. Enjoy the car and don't forget the sun screen.

Congratulations of the new Carrera S Cab. I really like the red on black! If I ever trade in my Boxster S it will be for the Carrera S Cab.

You do mean the interior of the car, right?

To which other photographs are you referring?
I was trying to promote "Club 911" but I'll repost what I put in the 911 section here then, for those who don't want to sign up for that part of the forum. =]

The car is incredible to drive and I am both very grateful and very much in love! She's very sporty - especially with Sport/Sport+ with PASM - and there's a lot of power. The car is very well planted, even with just rear wheel drive. I've been able to do the same tricks I was able to pull of the Cayman and then some. I'm still working on my confidence with the car but she has been amazing so far. I've also gotten a lot of compliments, especially regarding the interior.
I would have posted sooner but I was too busy out driving! I have about 800 miles left on the break-in period now. Plus I've been trying to get shots that do the car justice.
The pics are on the small side. The originals are about 4300 x 2900 resolution so these are the resized images I keep on my phone to show people. Just a small sample of what I've taken so far.
Night photography is a little harder to do, especially in the city. I don't really do it often, even for work. Generally you would set your DSLR's ISO to lowest (100 on mine) and shutter speed to manual and slowest (30 secs on mine), put it on a tripod, set the camera and wait. It was a little never wracking for the first shot in particular because it was in the middle street. A car actually came up behind me when the camera was processing the pic and I signaled the driver to wait a sec as I shielded the camera and my car with my body, haha.
Yes, I have my priorities straight. But I think I'll make a poster out of that pic.

PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
|
 |
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

Still, I'm guessing it was this posting that got the attention? Can't say I blame you as that was my intention. =D

You can interpret it either way and it would certainly be true.

Oh it certainly would be. =]
And thank you for all your compliments! I never thought I'd have a black car again (Cayman was black, see pic) but she is well worth it. Always have a car duster, quick detailer, microfiber cloth and shop towels with me though!

A little ZZ Top:
She said what's it gonna take for you to lay your top on down?
I said honey why don't you ask me when we get to the outskirts of town.
Nice car. And the accompanying lipstick red interior is superb!

Re: Also no longer a Cayman owner.
I actually named the car Ai (愛; love) since I kinda just fell in love with her. My Cayman was named Camilla and my car before that was Hikari (光; light). I figured I'd alternate languages as well.

Now is that just "AI", or Ai-jin (mistress), or Ai-bou (buddy)?

Just Ai, though I've made the aijin and aibou puns as well because she is like my partner, after all. =]

My 930 is also named Hikari. She has that name because she puts on a light show when I get off boost. Giant flames out of the exhaust that lights up the night!

Re: Also no longer a Cayman owner.
Myenshi, after seeing your excellent pics, you've gotten me interested in carrera cab's. The other day I spotted an all white C4S cab which was sweet, and then I spotted a black Carrera Cab (which I thought might have been you, but it wasn't an S). Summer is coming and maybe it's time for a rag top?!
