I was told MSRP was the way sales went on orders here in HI. I placed an order for a June build but just checking before I close the deal. I know for cars on the lot deals can be made but does that sound right for an order. Also any suggestions on the lowest rates here for financing??? Thanks guys (and girls)!

i purchased my car off the dealer's lot (it actually was on the dealer's showroom floor). i was able to negotiate a modest discount off the monroney (this was over 2 years ago). don't have any experience regarding ordered cars.

Do not know anything about HI however here in Atlanta and from other threads I have read there are discounts on special order cars. Good luck!

Hey jman, just saw that was you in HI. Did not read the name before I wrote that post. Guess HI is different than other areas.

As far as I've been told here, Caymans and Boxsters can be discounted off the lot - depending on what the options are - especially for those deemed "excessive," eg. bucket seats, etc. 911's recieve less discounts because of they sell well if I recall correctly.

Special orders do not get discounted so much if at all because it's to your specification.

It also depends on your relationship with the dealership.

thanks that makes me feel a lot better. I trusted my sales guy as he told me the same thing but being on this forum and hearing about all the unbelivable (at least for HI) deals everywhere else made me wonder.

Who is your sales rep? Most people work with Ash who is very cool about it all. I've only spoken to Aaron in passing a couple of times but he seems nice as well.

I first worked with Sean before he moved back to the mainland and have since spent much more time with Aaron who has been wonderful. I really appreciated his opinion and he was very well informed. I was just thinking how much fun I had spec'ing out the car and how long I'll have to wait until my next purchase there...
