Re: PCA schedule for non PCA members

I want to take a moment to remind our Region of two upcoming events. Both are the weekend of Septembe 19-20, 2009.

The first event I want to tell you about is the annual Porsche Club of America Headquarters Open House scheduled for Sunday, September 20. Executive Director Vu Nguyen (a Potomac Member) has once again arranged a tremendous event to showcase PCA's headquarters and the great collection of Porsche and PCA memorabilia. PCA HQ is located at 8003 Forbes Place, Suite 310, Springfield, VA 22151. They are located just off the Braddock Road West Exit of the Capitol Beltway I495. The Open House is scheduled for 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM rain or shine.

Vu has arranged for several vendors to be on site. Things will start at 10:00 AM with a social in the parking lot. PCA will provide refreshments. Starting at 11:00 AM Vu will personally lead guided tours of the PCA offices. He will present snippets of PCA history, facts and day to day activities. A real treat will be the ability to see the Helmut Bott collection of Porsche memorabilia presented to PCA last year. At 1:30 PM Vu will wind things up with a raffle for some great door prizes.

So everyone come on out and support PCA's Open House. We are really fortunate to have PCA Headquarters in our back yard. Vu does a great job of supporting PCA and Potomac.

The second event is the second annual At Speed Motorsports open house on Saturday, September 19th. Bob Miller, owner of At Speed (also a Potomac member), says their beautifully maintained, 14,000+ sq/ft facility will be available for browsing. At Speed employees will be available for tours. At Speed is also teaming with AbsolutelyDriven.com to host a high-end car show. There will be raffle prizes for guests and awards for car show winners. A special guest will be Steve Dinan of Dinan Performance. Steve is very well known for high quality the highest quality BMW aftermarket and performance products. Steve will be ready to answer questions and discuss current and future products and developments.

So bring your family and friends to At Speed to check out their great shop, show room, engine room and facilities. And come out and meet and talk with fellow Mid-Atlantic auto enthusiasts. At Speed is located at 7410 Coca Cola Dr. Unit 110, Hanover MD 21076. The festivities start at 12:00PM and end at 4:00PM. If you want to enter your car in the car show, then you must arrive no later than 1:00 PM. There is a cost of $15.00 for Pre Show Pre-Registration Contestants and $20.00 to register at the door. Everyone else is free. Contact At Speed directly for more information at 410-712-4290.
