Anyone from Zone 2 heading to CroctoberFest?
Five of us from Zone 1 will be heading south via I-81 beginning at Harrisburg, PA before stopping for the night in Blacksburg, Virginia on Wednesday 10/1.
Any Zone 2 members heading to CrocFest are welcome to join us, send me a PM and we'll coordinate.
If you're in the Blacksburg area and would like to join us for dinner, let me know too!

I'll be heading down from Maryland early Thursday morning. What route are you going from Blacksburg? Are you meeting in Asheville with the other group?

Hey jcriggs,
The plan is to leave Blacksburg, VA head down I-81 south, then take I-26 south into Asheville.
We're meeting ARCuhTEK around noon, having lunch in Asheville then hitting the road by 1:30 toward Buford and Kinetic Speed shop.
Where are you in MD? Can you meet us in Asheville around noon?

Heading down at 0dark30 from Silver Spring, picking up my friend in Crofton, then on to Atlanta.

As per google maps, it's an 8-hr drive from Crofton, MD to Asheville taking I-81. Any chance of you making Asheville around noon on Thursday? Then again if you're planning on driving during the overnight hours, you'll be in Atlanta by noon!

Pete: I'm not going to Atlanta, but would like to meet with the group for dinner in Blacksburg on Wednesday, if that's not too much trouble. I'm happy to hear that you're stopping overnight in Blacksburg, but why Blacksburg?

Hi Jim!
Blacksburg is about 8 hrs driving time for us coming from the NYC area. We figured there was no need to keep pushing south later into the night since we had to stop at some point anyway.
This gives us time to get to Buford, GA for the first nights event at an easy pace on Thursday.
I'll PM you the info of where we'll be staying. We can certainly benefit with having a local choose a place for dinner!
On the return leg we plan to stay in Harrisonburg, VA and hit Skyline drive Monday morning. Maybe you can join us for drive then also?

Pete: I could understand the distance reason, but Christiansburg is just off of I-81 at the same exit, with a few hotels and restaurants near the interstate, while Blacksburg is about 10 miles farther west on 460.
As for restaurants, we do have local places such as Dude's Foods, Crazy Mays, and The Farm House, but it may be safer to stick with the big food chains such as Outback Steakhouse and Texas Roadhouse. The Outback is within walking distance of a Hampton Inn that is just 5 miles from the interstate just off of 460 towards Blacksburg. The Texas Roadhouse is about a half mile from the Outback.
