Where'd the snow go?

Just when I was finally having a blast driving around in empty parking lots, all the snow goes and melts here in Chicago. Oh well, hopefully it'll be back soon enough.

Re: Where'd the snow go?

Let's not ask quesions and just enjoy the 60 degree weather. Actually when I got home this evening it was snowing again and cold. I did have fun the last few days though. Time to get the beater back out though unfortunately.

What? And miss all the fun you can have with your 987 in the snow?

I for one was happy it was gone at least for a day, I had my Cayman in my GF's garage (luckily as my garage was gutted by fire on Halloween I lost my R32 in the fire but not my Cayman) anyway yesterday was the first opportunity I had to bring my baby back home (Summer tires and warm driving only) even though it was foggy and raining I had a blast driving it home. Now it can snow all winter, that's what the A3 is for!

I don't have a Cayman yet. I can't decide if I should get a slightly used one or order a new one. I need to fill this pesky open bay in my garage though, it looks so bare in there without a car in that spot. My exs 335i used to fill it but she's gone so it's time use that spot again.

The responsible adult in me says get a used one so someone else eats the depreciation, but the irresponsible 27 year old in me says get a new one before a new gf comes along and turns into a wife and then kids happen.

Re: Where'd the snow go?

I swore I'd never buy new again (I live in Chicago and work from home, so rarely NEED to drive), but after months of looking for a used Cayman or 911 that fit my needs, I bought new. If you can find gently used and Porsche Certified, I'd recommend that. Of course if you want the features of the new model year, you only have one choice

My next car will definitely be used, but considering I want an air cooled 911, I don't have much choice.

Re: Where'd the snow go?

I was actually at the dealership today. They had 5 used Caymans but only two were S models. Both were in good shape but had a lot of options I really don't care about like rain sensors and such. I was chatting with the salesman about my dilemma new vs used and he was very helpful. The options for ordering one are staggering. My head started spinning when we were talking about the 5 or 6 kinds of seats you could get. Basically I'm going to research and take my time. It's a big purchase for me so I'm in no rush. Although I'm very excited.
