Porsche Club Race at Lime Rock Sat. (4/25)

Anyone attending the Porsche Cup Race at LRP in April. Unfortunately it appears that Joel sold his Cayman so he won't be racing it but the upside is, someone else will..
I've volunteered to work the race again this year so I'll be there both days. How about you Gator, did you volunteer again?

Re: Porsche Cup Race at Lime Rock

Gator, Nick and I will put our heads together at the Fairfield Ct. Motorsports event next week to sort this out.

The race falls on the same day as the big Hershey, PA swap meet. Since I've never attended, I plan on leading a caravan out to that and meet some of the PA members. Gator and/or Nick may organize another group that'll head up to Lime Rock.

Stay tuned!

Lime Rock Porsche Club Racing

I am going to Lime Rock as a spectator on April 25 to watch some racing. I just want to see if some members want to meet up? I am figuring to be there (depending on weather) between 11 - 4. It would be nice to see some of you there! let me know. Thanks

Re: Porsche Cup Race at Lime Rock

No fee for entering Lime Rock. You'll have to sign a standard waiver to enter. Anyone under 18 will need a separate waiver too.

For some of the new members here, let's go back in time to last year when this Club race was the first official gathering of the Cayman Nor'Easters...

Ok great.

Nice link, that event definitely looked like a lot of fun. It's a 2hr drive from Manhattan, but I think I might go since I'm going to be returning to Lime Rock again to watch ALMS. It would be nice getting acquainted with the area.

I've volunteered to work the race again this year so I'll be there both days. How about you Gator, did you volunteer again?
Where to we find out about the p cup race. Is it a PCA zone 1 event?

Re: Porsche Cup Race at Lime Rock

This is a CVP-PCA sponsored club race. Here is a link to info regarding the race but this is mostly info for those who are actually racing. http://www.cvrpca.org/09race/09-race-flyer.pdf

There is racing on both days. Each day will have practice, qualifying, and then a class race, ending with an endurance race. The endurance race lasts about 1 hour with a larger group of cars racing.

There is no admission fee and you are pretty much free to walk the whole area including the "pits".
I'm hoping for good weather as I'll be out there both days volunteering. As I've said before, working the race is the next best thing to racing the race.

Re: Porsche Cup Race at Lime Rock Sat. (4/25)

Does anyone have details of race times and who is going to join the drive up to Lime Rock. I am really looking forward to this event, also my first time at the track.

Re: Porsche Cup Race at Lime Rock Sat. (4/25)

Keep your eye on this thread for details.

I'll also shoot out an email once everything is finalized. The track will be open from 8AM onto 5PM so if you end up heading up on your own, you can still get in.

We're going to try and put another drive together.
