NNJ pca DE at pocono 6-27- 6-28
Just got back from the event at pocono. I was a little apprehensive at first because it is a NASCAR track. (No offense to NASCAR fans intended). The course we ran included two parts of the infield on day one and on day two we ran part of "the bowl" which is a very fast part of the track for half a day. The speeds that were reached were a little intimidating. The infield for those who have never been is bumpy feeling at speed which makes driving the course at speed challenging. I was pleasantly rewarded to see that I could keep up with some of the faster cars on the infield although they would lose me on the long straights. An instructor rode with me (he has a GT3) and he commented positively on how well planted the car felt and that I was holding speeds in some of the turns that he couldn't hold with his car. The event was fairly well organized. There were a few Caymans there and I was doing my best to keep up with them LOL. I got to say hello to fellow CC'er (or should I be saying PP-er? ... that doesn't sound right somehow) Cayman Ken who was there and helping to tech the cars. Sorry I didn't get to say hello to everyone else there. I look forward to future events with the group!
Cheers!
