Hi welcome to the board. If by 604 you mean Greater Vancouver then I'm one. There's quite a few Caymans around Vancouver now. I saw one heading south on Oak St around 60th this morning at around ten to six.

I'm over on the north shore, welcome to the board. I must be travelling around in the wrong places but I have seen virtually no other caymans. I knew it was rare but I go for weeks without seeing one.

I know what you mean. They come in spades sometimes. We should all have a little get together sometime. It would be great if you guys could post pics up in the registry of your cars.

I plan on taking some pics this weekend. I had the car for only seven days when a coworker backed into the front bumper/hood with his pick up truck. I just got the car back a week ago and need to detail it. A Greater Vancouver get together sounds like a good idea.

Hey, your Cayman looks like the one that I park near at work, which is eerily similar to mine. You wouldn't happen to be the jerk with the same car as this jerk would you? If you so you must really hate me =). I was certainly surprised when I saw the other Cayman and how closely it matched mine.
In the last 6 months there has been an explosion of Caymans around here it seems. I'm also on the north shore and thought I saw the yellow one a few weeks ago (I was in another car though).

?????? You've got THE poster cayman. I didn't think Arctic Silver with 19" wheels was proprietary, relax buddy. I originally purchased a car out of San Diego with the exact configuration that you have. You may have gone ballistic

My tongue was firmly in cheek. I'm not sure if you confused my post to be in response to yours, I was responding to deltacs' post. If you look at our car configurations they are scarily similar, only major visual difference is wheel style and interior colour. Given I had hardly seen any CSs at all in my city and felt like the car was a bit unique, I just found it comical that when I moved into my new work building and went to park in the most logical spot, there just happened to be another CS near identical to mine parked in the same area! We've been parking there for months but never ran across each other yet. Well if you don't find that kind of funny so be it ...

Hi Kujibo
I don't think its me you are parking near as I don't use my CS as a daily driver to downtown. I live in North Delta. Your car is totally loaded with a few more goodies than mine. Did you buy your car locally? I searched high and low for mine, trying to find a good buy on one with the options I was looking for. Eventually found this one not too far away near Tacoma, WA.
One of these days we all gotta have a get together and compare cars

Hey deltacs,
No, I didn't buy mine locally. At the time I was looking last summer there was hardly anything in the local used market, at least nothing close to the config I wanted, and I was looking for many months. What was there was very expensive too. Oddly enough within weeks of me closing the purchase on mine lots of Caymans started showing up in the local market at reasonable prices.
So I bought mine from the US, and also scoured the market for quite a while before I came across the one I bought. I was looking for a black interior but the terracotta car was very close to what I wanted so I thought it over and went for it, a bit scared what it would look like, but in the flesh, I'm happy with it. Overall it was quite the ordeal to get the car up here. Tough being a Canadian sometimes eh?
Yeah we should get together some day, ploc36 threated to organize a meet this spring I think, and it's almost summer now =).
Cheers

Your story sounds exactly like mine. I was looking around at that time too. It certainly was a lot of hassle and angst but worth it in the end. I bought mine in the beginning of November so I did alright with the exchange and the valuation for tax purposes.
You really have to look to the US if you want a car with specific options, there just isn't ANY supply up here.
There may be more Caymans around Vancouver now than a year ago, but I would still say they're rare.
I like the idea of driving a Porsche that's different from every Tom, **** & Harry Porsche thats around Vancouver :-)).
