You planning on buying it? Barrier is a top quality place but you pay top quality price thats for sure.I went there last summer to trade my 07 2.7 Liter for a 3.4 because thats where I bought it but they gave me a very insulting trade in value(8K back of Book) and they would hardley budge off sticker on the 08 CS sport. They said by Modding my car with (12K ) in mods it was actually worth about 2K less then a straight stock one.I am now very glad I kept my 2.7 I am totally happy with it in every aspect. For my next Porsche purchase I will go to So Cal where bargains can be found But, good luck on your hunting for the previous owner of the CS ok Offer LOW and be prepared to walk out without hesitation until you get the deal you want .

Fully agree, Barrier doesn't seem to flex much on their pricing, don't hesitate to look at the inventory of dealers in Oregon, I picked up mine at Carrera motors down there and had a great road trip back.

Re: Blitzkrieg
thanks for the tips. i guess the previous owner was not an active forum member... or simply doesn't go to this site anymore since they ditched their cayman.
negotiating w/ barrier was like pulling teeth... but they will negotiate. i had to start getting up to leave twice before the manager came out and negotiated with me directly. managers are so much easier to deal with.

Yeah weather permitting I'll be there between 10 and 11 am. Wish it would stop snowing.

Re: '07 white cayman s @ barrier
almost.
i ran a carfax on the car and it came back kind of screwy. it's attached if anyone wants to take a look. i called them up about this report and they're ordering another car report that is supposed to be more "detailed and accurate." i also scheduled a PPI w/ redmond european.
all this might be moot as i've discovered mckenna porsche in LA is offering a great deal on their remaining '08s. i'm going to call mckenna up later this morning to check on their inventory.
'08 for $48-50k or an '07 CPO w/ 10k miles, PSE, carrera sport wheels, and sports steering wheel for $45k.

Re: '07 white cayman s @ barrier
Glad to hear you're expanding your search down to CA, the car market there is much better for a buyer than the NW. Keep us updated and best of luck with the negotiations

Re: '07 white cayman s @ barrier
yeah, much better. i was going to talk to my salesman @ barrier to see if they can match the $15k off should mckenna not have one to my liking. i'm also trading in a car... not sure if a dealership in LA is willing to do that over the internet.

Re: '07 white cayman s @ barrier
Seems like guys in Belingham bought the car themselves to get the $2,500. Basically car was punched and warranty started. I guess one of the owners drove it. Then it was sold, then Barrier got it.
I saw it at Redmond Euro yesterday, it looks absolutely HOT. What options are on it? Are you paying more than $45?

Re: '07 white cayman s @ barrier
naw, not more than $45k, however, that was with the understanding that the car had PSE. after doing some more research, it looks like the car does not have PSE and only has the chrome exhaust tips. do you think i should be able to get $2k off the negotiated price due to that?
i had RE do a PPI, although it doesn't seem like they were too thorough w/ the actual mechanics of it (what does 50%+ mean on tire wear? shouldn't they be measured in mm's, same goes w/ brake pads... don't shine a light and look, give me an actual measurement). did a good job w/ other details though (such as a missing pad behind the brake lights).
options i think are: preferred package, chrome exhaust tubes, sports steering wheel, sports seats and some form of upgraded wheels (19" carrera classic?)

Re: '07 white cayman s @ barrier
Barrier they are pretty rip off, I contacted them before when I was looking for a CS. I am thinking about selling mine, if you are on the interested. 07 CS with 16xxx miles, MSRP at $75k, with long list of mods. You can find pictures of my car, if you search under my username. Shoot me a PM if interested

Re: '07 white cayman s @ barrier
Negotiating with Barrier is difficult no doubt. I picked up one of the four base 2008 Caymans they had left. I ended up getting a good discount (below invoice) but it was not easy. I esentially had to walk away and then the called me back the next day with their final, final offer. I suspect they will want MSRP or <5% off a 2009. I had a trade so going south would have been more work but I was heading down that route.
Oregon is worth a look. California with a trade in would be difficult.

As little as I can. They work on my track car. I will also use them to do the Quaife install.
