Portland Caymans, and good roads?

Sooo...still relatively new to the Cayman community. I've had my Macadamia CS for almost a month, and I've run into a few on the way to and from work. Just curious to see where all the Portlanders are. His987CS I've met on the forums, and I've seen a few other CS's on the road.

Also, any recommendations for roads around the Portland area?

Note: there was a yellow CS on Greeley this morning...I did see you flash the lights, not sure if you saw me waving back!

Welcome to the board and hope you enjoy the Cayman. There are many good roads for the Cayman. You need to try the scenic highway or try burnside road and take it up the hell and you can drive though the west hells. Portland is full of good roads. I live in Vancouver. Where did you buy your car from? Mark

Hi Mark, nice to meet you! I live not too far from Burnside, so I've taken the car up and down that road a couple of times. Where is the scenic highway, out of curiosity?

I bought my car from Hoehn Porsche down in Carlsbad, CA. They had a clearance on the 08's and made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

Re: Portland Caymans, and good roads?

One of my favorite roads is Washington Route 14. It winds along the Columbia River, for as long as you care to follow it. I generally drive out to the Bridge of the Gods, which gets you back to Oregon, and sometimes I follow the historic highway, which takes you past many waterfalls.

A good local Oregon drive is to take Farmington Road (OR 210) to OR 219, which takes you to Newberg. Once in Newberg you pick up NE Wilsonville Road, which takes you to Wilsonville. Once there you can either get on I-5 to get back home, or stay on Wilsonville Road, which turns into Stafford Road, and just follow that north.

There are so many great roads in central and eastern Oregon it's not worth listing them. The problem is that from Portland they entail a 4hr+ drive or overnight stays. The drive to Bend is simply awesome.

Choosing the right parking lot comes first...

A Starbucks with a great parking lot?

Re: Portland Caymans, and good roads?

There's one by a Fred Meyer in Downtown Beaverton, and another right next to a Barnes and Noble out at Tanasbourne...those are the two that come immediately to mind.

Re: Portland Caymans, and good roads?

welcome aboard! for good roads, Skyline Blvd is the one of the favorite lunch or weekend drives with the fellas. Uphill and downhill, then Germantown road are fun too, but too much traffic.

Re: Portland Caymans, and good roads?

Skyline's a great road, I agree, ignorant bicyclists and all. I got a really good run on Germantown last Sunday...granted it was 7AM and I was on my way to the golf course.

Quite a community we've got here, I like it!

Re: Portland Caymans, and good roads?

How about Sunday, April 25th, 10:00am, at the Starbucks in the plaza at the corner of Barnes Rd & Miller Rd? If that's too soon the next Sunday works for for me too.

I won't be able to make it tomorrow, but next Sunday (5/3) works great. Any other takers?

Yes for both His987CS and me. Does rain make a difference for anyone?

No difference for me. I'd like it to be a sunny day but it is Oregon, after all.
