shop to install exhaust in Atlanta
Just got an AWE catback exhaust and have Softronic plenum on the way. Debating on having a shop install the exhaust. I have shot a message to Kinetic (sponsor here) does anyone have other recommendations for a shop in Atlanta?
Thanks Shellshocked

What did John at Kinetic say?
We also have Jim Ellis Porsche in Atlanta, I don't know if they install aftermarket exhausts or not.

Shellshocked,
I just used Kinetic to install my H&R springs, am about to do the Softronic plenum myself, and am looking at the AWE exhaust also! I would really like to hear your car when you get it in and would recommend Kinetic. We ran into a small hickup in the install of my springs and they are standing behind everything. They even offered to put me in a rental! Can't say enough good things about them. Everyone is extremely nice and very professional.
Even got to take a quick drive in an R8! Sweeet!
Give John a call and he'll set you up. They were competitively priced to other shops and way less than Porsche.
PM me for my number if you want to chat.

I emailed and left a voicemail with kinetic but haven't heard from them yet - they are about 45 minutes from my house. One sponsor of the Peachstate PCA is German Auto in Roswell (5 minutes from my house). I think I will give them a try. Chris I will let you know when I have the AWE installed should be this week and we can meet-up. I also have the SRP plenum on the way and will install this myself also. As an FYI I am doing some before and after sound testing (I borrowed a friends meter) primarily on interior noise and will do a write-up when done.

Re: shop to install exhaust in Atlanta
Had the AWE exhaust installed Friday. At first I have something rattling and a significant resonance. The rattle turned out to be my license plate and I put some preload in the mounting damping rods (per the install article). Now no rattle and no resonance. The exhaust is boomy when you accelerate at low RPM under load but nothing major. I really like it and it woke up the car. I installed the softronic race plenum today - took two hours and was not hard - just a little tight. I have sent the flash off to Scott and now waiting for the flash to be returned. I can say that even without the software there is a big difference in the car - pulls much harder and I love the sound.

Re: shop to install exhaust in Atlanta
Sorry for the delay in responding, but I was preparing for the DE this weekend. Let's just say that the CS (H&R springs & SRP) ran A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!! Unfortunately, it ran so good and so strong, now I can't go back without a bunch of mods Going to have to figure all this out because it could get expensive fast.
Shellshocked, glad to hear you got everything done. I'll let you get some carbon buildup in that thing and then we'll get together for a little listen. I really could have used an aftermarket exhaust this weekend to make some additional noise -- I banged the rev limiter hard a couple of times because other cars were drowning me out

Re: shop to install exhaust in Atlanta
Kinetic installed my Fabspeed catback and did a great job. Getting them to do wasn't a choice at the time, but I'd go back in a heart beat. Just a visit to the shop is worth the trip for you. When you see the cars they work on and prepare for competition, you'll understand. John, Stephan (German tech who did the installation without a scratch) are great guys to do business with.

Chris,
Anytime. Maybe we can meet up at one of the caffeine and octane shows. I really like the exhaust. I am waiting on the softronic flash but the exhaust really made a difference.

Re: shop to install exhaust in Atlanta
FYI, I did the Softronic flash first and like it, but the race plenum is so worthy an upgrade that you should all consider it. It's amazing and I liken it to the change from a 3.6 to 3.8 in the 993 aircooled cars. Not a ton of HP, but a fantastic torque curve. The dip I used to have in the 2-3k range is completely gone! Totally worth it.
