(Potential) New Atlanta Owner Here

So I'm getting awfully close to officially joining the club. I've been looking for the right Cayman for a while now and think I've found her. I'm going to look at the car tomorrow and may be the owner by this weekend. Very excited.

Do you guys ever meet up? I'd love to hear some exhausts sometime. I'm also looking to get into A/X for the first time, looks like loads of fun. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and hope to see you all around.

Re: (Potential) New Atlanta Owner Here

I was thinking today how much I enjoy driving my Porsche every day. I've had mine for 2.5 years and it still puts a smile on my face. Go for it, you'll be glad you did.

Re: (Potential) New Atlanta Owner Here

I really think it's going to happen in the next two days. My wife is really pushing it as my early b-day present, so that's obviously a plus. I just have to come to grips w/ the fact that our house doesn't have a garage

Guy in my neighborhood just parks in Cayman in his car port. You could always makes a garage or something or have a car cover

Re: (Potential) New Atlanta Owner Here

Our lot is weird, so I think a carport is the best I could do, and that's iffy. I think I'm going to go w/ a Noah cover. I'm not really worried about safety, just the elements.

Re: (Potential) New Atlanta Owner Here

Yes, we are here!!!

As Rod noted, AutoX next Sunday. DE this weekend at Road Atlanta (I wasn't able to commit for this weekend, but I'll probably go up for a while one or both days to mingle), but I am sure there will be several Caymans running.

Peachstate PCA meetings on the 2nd Monday evening every month.

Also, on the first Sunday of every month at the Avenue's Cobb, there is the Caffine and Octane "gathering", although for the 2nd month in a row it conflicts with the autoX and for June with the DE. Always a great gathering of cars, from Model Ts to Lambos, with a lot of the local Porsche folks as well.

First PCA concours is May17th.

Check out the Peachstate PCA website for details.....

Home

Just go buy it!!!!!!!!

Regards

Re: (Potential) New Atlanta Owner Here

I live in Decatur.

Thanks for all of the information everyone. Like I said, I hope to start seeing all of you around. I went and looked at the car today and am in the haggling process. We're about $500 apart. I know it's not a lot, but I'm stubborn. We'll see what happens.

Have the salesperson throw in a Porsche Car Cover. And call it done.

They're refusing to budge. I'm going to say either half the car cover or $150 off. It's just a matter of principle now!

Re: (Potential) New Atlanta Owner Here

Just leave the dealership and don't call them to check or anything. They'll eventually go for it. Just don't show TOO much interest unless you already have

Just joined PCA, going to try to make it to next week's A/X. I've never done it before but it looks like fun.

Re: (Potential) New Atlanta Owner Here

See you at the AutoX - I have the Black/Black CaymanS, Rod is in Silver with the awesome black / red interior, and I talked to Ben today who is in the Blue CS who will be there as well, and I assume Dan will be there in his Black / Tan CS.. Usually a couple other CaymanSs and now we run with all the BoxterSs; Kimsey has the Blue 986 BoxterS, so with the consolidated classes (all "S" mid engines) we'll probably have 6-10 cars in our class.

There are always very experienced people there to instruct, so don't hesitate to ask for someone to ride along!

Regards!!!!
