Colorado Front Range Zone 9 Event Ideas
Colorado Front Range Zone 9'ers,
What do you want to see for CC events within easy reach of Denver?
I'm thinking an easy, quick to execute GTG would be Coffee and Caymans. But where? Here are my ideas:
1) Downtown Denver on a Sunday morning: it's empty down there....
2) Evergreen, Golden, Morrison (foothills)
3) Boulder
4) Castle Rock
5) Tech center (I'm close to here.)
Creative ideas (or good ones stolen from other regions) are seriously appreciated.
Just hit reply right now and share your thoughts.

I think New Mexico is in that zone. Could you pick something closer to include southern New Mexico? Even C-Springs is better.

I'm a newbie still, live in Monument. The snow is definitely stopping MY venturing out. the Explorer is getting plenty of use though! I'm hoping another couple of weeks and the snow will be staying on the ground a little less. Looking forward to a meet and greet!

M_Parey,
Yes, NM is in Zone 9!
Check another thread in this Z9 forum, I'm trying to get both zone wide ideas and local-to-Denver ideas going. You'd fit better in the other thread....
Oh, and I'm overjoyed that somebody responded to my post, thanks!

jnscolo,
Coffee & Caymans on a Saturday morning would be good. I'm up north in Fort Collins. Please pick a weekend when the weather is going to be fair and not after the roads have been slimed & rocked (magnesium chloride & sand for those of you not accustomed to our local road treatments). Otherwise the CS stays indoors

I think Golden would be the ideal spot to meet. We could have coffee and then blast up some of the really great twisty roads.. maybe to Nederland for lunch... I'd prefer to have coffee somewhere in close proximity to great roads and scenery. Heck... I want to get AWAY from the concrete jungle on the weekends!

It's a little late to bring up now, but FWIW there is a Rocky Mountain NASA event (1st of season) gping on at Pueblo Motorsports track this weekend, the 15th & 16th. Even if you are not signed up and running, it might be worth going to check out the program, how they operate and for newbies to HPDE events, what's involved in getting to know your car and it's performance potential on the track.
Cheers, Mike

Mike,
Have fun at the NASA PMI event this weekend. I won't be there, but will hopefully see you at PCA and BMW events later this year.
Doug

Doug ~ other commitments prevent me from making the NASA event this weekend, but I'm sure I'll be at least some of the BMW and PCA DE's, as well as other NASA events. Cheers
Mike

I was wondering if there is a list accessable of where everyone IS? Does the coordinator have access? I'm in Monument, CO (near enough to hear the train at least!)
It just started snowing here again!!! DANG!!!

Alright, alright
I'm back. I went dark for a while due to work, and of course I'm off to Florida for Spring Break on Sunday. So, my goal before I go is to do two things. Evidently we have the capability to start an interest group where I can start gathering things like emails and locations (I wouldn't broadcast obviously, I do know how to use bcc:.) Thing one is to get that going.
I really like the Golden suggestion, also, what about Evergreen? I'm thinking either second or third weekend in April. My kid schedule leans to doing it Sunday, but Saturday might work depending on the soccer schedule.... Thing two is to get the first gtg on the calendar.
Stay tuned, probably Saturday, for an update.

There is an AX School this Saturday (April 5th) and an AX on Sunday. Wish I had heard about it sooner, but I'm waiting to hear back if there are any openings left.
Anyone going?
