Anybody here with a CS from El Paso or Las Cruces? Have a favor to ask.

Hi gang. I live in El Paso (upper valley), and am ready to buy a new (leftover) '08 CS, but want the wife's approval first. Problem is she can't take a roadtrip with me to Albuquerque until mid June, and for obvious reasons, I'd like to get her approval NOW , before the great deals are gone.

All I ask is for she to get a quick ride (preferrably on the freeway) while I wait (am not asking to drive ), to make sure road/wind noise and suspension stiffness are not objectionable to her. And she's just 125#, so don't worry about her denting your pristine seat . By the way, I want base suspension with 19s as far as ride (hate the stock 18s), and Bose (and rest of preferred-plus package) to help with the noise/comfort. The other choice is the M3 V8, which is incredible as well, but in a different way; wish I could buy both. That's why I want her opinion, because I want her to come along.

For the record, I don't expect anybody to reply, but since I'd gladly do it for one of you, wanted to give it a shot. Thanks gang.
JC

Hey, the CS has no back seats, so I'm not worried . And she's 46 man; not what a pervert might be looking for .

That tells you how highly I think of Porsche owners. Or am I ? Thanks for the bump man. Good day.

I'm from El Paso, but I live in Dallas now. Sorry I can't help. Anyway, good to see future cayman owners from my home town, good luck!

Well, I still open doors for my lady after 20+ years of marriage, so chivalry is not dead here. And when you're confident, revealing your age is not a problem . And I'm not looking for a test drive, but a test RIDE . So no need to apologize for anything. Hope that's the end of it.

Hey Alfredo, don't worry; just the intention to help is good enough for me buddy. Glad you left this dusty/windy desert a while ago. I hope to do the same in a few years.

Thanks for the bump Gator Bite. Yeah, time is of the essence as there's just ONE car (I'd consider) left at $20K below MSRP... so I'm probably going to miss the boat on the opportunity to own a new (and loaded) '08 for $50K. By the way, there's also a black Edition 1 (or whatever) for $20K below MSRP, if somebody wants it (McKenna Porsche in Norwalk, CA). Thanks again to all.

Sometimes you got to go with what you feel. Like a lot of owners here, I ordered the CS sight unseen before they were available. Sure glad I did. Having owned a bunch of Porsches before helped with the confidence of course. Be careful of "analysis paralysis".

See what SW airline specials you can get your hands on and fly out to NM and check out the car. If she likes it drive it home. You book far enough in advance you can fly one both of you for about a couple of hundred bucks. Can't imagine that there are a lot of CS owners in El Paso if you have to go to NM to get one. Good luck.

There is no Porsche dealership in El Paso, so I have been told.

BTW, the DE1 has been at PofABQ there for an awful long time. They must be getting sick of seeing it in the showroom. Every time I see it, I lust after the Alcantara steering wheel ;-)

Unfortunately, that's correct.

I personally don't like Alcantara, which is just a fancy name for microfiber, or synthetic suede. And even less in 'wear' areas, like steering wheels and seats. And having to pay a premium for it? No way .

And yes, that DE1 is probably going to sit there for a long time, since they don't deal much. McKeena Porsche has one at $20K below MSRP if you're interested. Take care.
