Boxtoberfest 2008
I guess I'll be the first to mention:
Boxstoberfest
Last year was a blast: Met lot's of nice folks, pushed the car to "my" limits, had nice meals and even won a $50 Pelican Parts gift certificate.
I'm planning on going again!
See youse guys there.
Ole Joe

I hope you are also attending Croctoberfest, I'd hate to think that anyone here would pick Boxtoberfest over Croctoberfest. While I think it would be great for people to attend BOTH, if you have to pick one, pick Croctoberfest, you won't be sorry...

Ken, w/ all due respect, that's an unreasonable expectation for many of us in TX, particularly Central TX. It's maybe an hour and a half away vs. half-way across the country, and FREE! Oh yeah, Croctoberfest is less than 2 weeks prior to the ETA for my first child, so I don't expect my wife would be too supportive of going to that! Joe only posted it in the Region 5 forum, so I don't think he's posting as competition to Croctoberfest.
I hope Croctoberfest is a huge success, but unfortunately Boxtoberfest is my most realistic alternative.
BTW, you should take a cue from them and hold it in Central TX every year - conveniently located 1/2 way between the coasts!

Chris,
I realize some people may not travel, but others do travel and Atlanta is not that far from Austin. Croctoberfest shifts every year, year 1 was central in Kansas City and some members from Texas did drive up for that, last year was Las Vegas, again a member from Texas came, and this year is towards the east in Atlanta. I'm just saying that Croctoberfest needs attendees and that members should try to make it if they can, obviously if other items prevent that then that's fine too.

great idea Chris!
great idea, not to mention some of the most scenic, awesome, curvy roads in the country
and 3 or 4 DE tracks within 3 hour drive
and great weather (only been 100 every day this month, more or less)
and great BBQ
and .......

Thanks, Steve - we're excited! Gotta get Alice out in the car some more before delivery, b/c it will be hard for us to enjoy it together after the baby is born. You going to the Tasty Tour Sat.? We'll be there!
BTW, I saw a yellow Cayman in the Jaguar dealer's used car lot the other day, and was wondering who it could have come from...

I counted 58 cars
many thanks to the organizers for another great event!
there were 6 Caymans (Joe Twelvepack (Mid Blue), Brian (Basalt Black), Norm in Houston (silver), Jon in Austin (Meteor Gray), a Guards Red (believe it was from Houston but didn't get to talk to the young lady driving it, and my "loud" yellow" one)
great weather, great fun and great friends!
nice to see you again Brian, Bill and Jon and Rhoda
and nice to finally meet you Norm
will post a few pics for those who couldn't attend

Birdogs for airplane fanatics
there were 17 O-1 Birdogs on the airport, we had to wait for their departure before we could start our driving tours
made the airport tarmac pretty crowded
