Helmets

Anyone know where I can purchase a helmet in the DFW area suitable for DE's. I dont know the first thing about them. I need a good sales person I can talk with.

ordered mine online

bought mine from OG Racing
also, there's CDOC and Apex SPG
check out their websites, then call and talk to them, usually well qualified to help you with what you need
I was a little skeptical about buying a helmet without "handling the merchandise" but after discussing it with the experts, mine fit just fine

the other thing you can do is use the search function because there's probably multiple threads here with the same question

and check with caygirl or glenn or some of the other racer's in DFW because they may know someone local where you can get your hands on one and try it on

If the driving event you're participating in is with Drivers Edge, they have good deals on Bell and Pyrotect helmets. The Drivers Edge

PST at Motorsport ranch also has helmets, good guys too. If that's too far, try Smileys. I got mine there. Store Locations

Don't forget a decent set of gloves if your hands sweat. And maybe some driving shoes. And a new suspension with R-comps. Just thought I'd toss that in

I bought mine from Discovery Parts:
Discovery Parts

It was quick free shipping and they included a dust bag and carrying case with the helmet. And their prices are extremely reasonable.

Thanks guys. I think I will try Smileys. I really wanted a place I could go try some on. The helmet I rented for my Apex Driving event felt like someone taped a refrigerator around my head. Very awkward.

Once you start down this path, it never ends does it?

Never. Never ever.

And consumables start to take their toll on your pocketbook...
