Houston-September!! Upcoming Saturday Exotics and Coffee 9/6/08
Alright, August was a loooooong Month, so I'm posting this early to keep up the enthusiasm. Fellow Exotic and Sports car drivers, we will plan to meet (Again!) at our USUAL location at Starbucks in Uptown Park Shopping Cntr on Saturday, 06-Sep-08. Wow, we had a huge turnout at the August meeting, so let's keep up the turnout. We will stick to the usual start time of 8:30 a.m. and until "whenever". We will see who shows up and then decide if we want to take a cruise somewhere. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. You may again use this post as a "headcount" by username / car.
Note: due to the large turnout last time - I'm encouraging drivers to park in the middle sections away from store fronts as a courtesy to the store owners. If space is needed we can take up the areas toward the back end of the lot.
Exotics and Coffee
Date / Time: Saturday 06-Sep-08 8:30 a.m. - on.
Location: Starbucks - Uptown Park (Post Oak Blvd. / 610)
Who: Exotics, Sports, enthusiasts

I might make it by tomorrow. If I do it will be in my MINI since we also have a HMMS meeting at Ninfa's in Bellaire at 10:00. My MINI is all black with a bike rack on top.

Nice meeting you and Pete! I think the PCA is having a driver's training this weekend. I didn't know about it until it was too late.

GW

I saw three Caymans but didn't see who got out of any of them so I failed to meet any of you. I left around 9:45 along with the VP of the local MINI club to go on to our meeting in Bellaire. The standouts for me were the 1969 Kharmann Ghia (needs a lot of work but my first car at 16 was a convertible version) and getting to see my first GT-R. No offense to anyone intended but it's even fuglier in person than in pictures to me. I'm quite aware of its performance envelope but I could never own such a large and ungainly automobile.

Gearwrench, beautful car! It was nice to meet you!
Good to see you again, Pete... and could that kid of yours be any cuter?
Scott, saw you pull out. Sorry I didn't get to catch you.
Red Warrior, good to see you again, sorry we didn't get to visit...
An idea: What about next month us Cayman/Boxster folks stick around and have lunch somewhere near there?
Jim

Yea the GTR was HUGE I thought it would be only a little wider than the GTR R34.
I guess they took that "wider is better" philosophy with this generation. I liked that older GTR R32 that was there better, it never went through the left hand drive conversion. The only cars legally able to be on the road like that are post office mail delivery vans. I wonder how he got plates for it!

Lunch next time sounds like a good idea. Hopefully, us Caymanites can group together. I'll bring Adam again, he had a great time and was well behaved.
Cheers,
Pete

Another Great Gathering in the Uptown Park! What cool weather we had in the early & mid morning with a large Ferrari collection of various makes and models. This event just gets better and better each month and you never know what will show up? That only makes it harder to leave! ;P) Last month their were 2 Porsche Carrera GT's and this month a Ferrari ENZO showed up! You had to have been their as when the Enzo pulled up into the parking lot and everyone in the entire area migrated over to see and hear (V12 Engine), what a high light to the morning!
