Yes, good luck to all on the coast and Houston area. Should be an interesting weekend for those of us in the path of this storm.

Home, Cayman, people, and dog okay without electricity of course. City is still in chaos, I'm back at work today for the first time since last Thursday. What a mess.

Have started dropping hints that before my Croc arrives in March, I want the garage cleared out. Biggest branch of our pear tree broke off and blew into the open yard. Other direction would have taken out my Volvo and/or my 1975 914!! Power and gasoline situation in Houston is a real mess.

We survived OK. Very scary wind (80+ mph) for nearly six hours. Lots of branches down. Lost back fence when three uprights, 4" X 4", snapped like twigs. Just got power after six days. No complaints, we are very lucky compared to many folks, especially those to the south of us. If anyone out there needs help (water, washer, dryer, debris clearing, etc. let me know.

We're doing fine - been back at work since monday. Been cleaning up branches and debris in the yard and strret for several days. Electricity was off for only 20 hours, never lost water or natural gas, no damage to the house or cars. Feel very lucky! Let me know if anyone needs anything. Alex

My free-standing, 3 story townhouse was swaying with the gusts. Pretty scary. Glad to hear other *survivors*. My CS and I survived uninjured. Day 6 of no electricity

We got power back Monday and went to work on Tuesday but it's still a mess out there. Gas is a pita, food is scarce, and most of all I wish they would fix the traffic lights that have power in the major intersections. I've seen 2 accidents since the storm. I thought when I left Florida I wouldn't have to deal with this ****!

AS Cayman S survived unscathed. Haven't driven it yet....afraid of picking up nails. Lots of debris all over neighborhood.

As a matter of policy, after storms like this, I let the SUV's run the roads for a few days to clear all the nails.

We made it! We stayed, NEVER AGAIN! Scary night. Lost well pump house, and well. Lost small barn in back, lost fence and lots of trees. Cayman was fine. It stayed in my big pole barn, and just got a little wet from rain blowing in the ridge vent. Boat survived at South Shore. Still without power, but living fine on generator. My beer never even got hot!

Ike beat us up a bit. I lost several trees one of which missed my house by mere inches! We also lost the fence that surrounded our property so while we have a lot of clean up we fared pretty well. We were without power for a couple of days and just got internet back yesterday. We are very lucky considering what is going on in Houston proper and in Galveston.

Damage around my neighborhood...

Trees can definitely be evil during a Hurricane.

Here is a pic of a neighbor's house:

Is your Cayman sick or getting a TURBO installed?
