As long as work doesn't get in the way, I will be there. Not everyday you get invited to a Ferrari dealership and get to check out what goes on in the back. Should be pretty cool.

My wife and I will be there. We took a tour of the dealership several years ago with the Ferrari club just after they built the bodyshop in the back. Have not been back through there since Risi has been winning the ALMS GT2 class (even though they aren't doing quite as well this year as last). See you there, Alex

I will be there, but I guess I will better tell PCA so they know I am going. I will register today. Hope to meet all of you.

PCA Ferrari Dealership Tour Message
#############################################
NEW - How does the other half live? We have a wonderful opportunity! We have been invited to take a guided tour of the Houston Ferrari Dealership. This is not a sales tour of the showroom. This is a tour of the complete facility. We will see the room where engines are repaired (air conditioned and CLEAN), we will see the paint and body repair facilities (state of the art), and we will also see the racing facilities and racing cars. Of course, there will be various cars around for us to see. The date is September 23rd, which is a Tuesday. Please put this date on your calender. We plan to start about 6:30 with pizza and drink. If you know that you can come, e-mail Burnell Curtis so that we can get a count for food and refreshments. LSR has done this tour before and it is great and highly recommended.

Definitely a nice event. Thank you to the Ferrari folks!
Batteries died on my camera as soon as I took the first picture and forgot to take some spare ones.
So if anyone has any pics please share.

What an amazing show! I only spoke with two Cayman Clubbers that I already knew, I'm sure there were more of you there but without name tags or something, it's kind of impossible to find out who. Just to mention a few things they had at the dealership: 250 GTO, 250 SWB Coupe, two Enzos one race and one street, three ex-F1 cars including a Michael Schumacher and a Nigel Mansell, and many more Ferraris from the extremely rare and valuable to the latest production cars. Although you were not allowed to open and sit in the cars or anything like that, for the most part they all had their windows down, and you could freely circulate around them. The dealership's service areas, bodyshop, and raceshop including the transport trailer were all part of the tour including starting two very loud racecars. Almost at the end of the tour, my 964 buddy noticed that one of the dealer employees was an old motorcycle racing friend of ours. So after everyone had been led out, he took us back to the shop again and showed us the engine on the GTO which he said was reportedly about to change hands for around $26 million! My biggest lesson learned was although the Porsche community is certainly pretty affluent, the Ferraristi are a huge leap above us. Our acquaintance there told us of how many if not most of their customers throw around money like water. Great time.

An Awesome Event! Just what I needed to help me clam down from all the stress that Hurricane IKE has caused as we are still without power at our house. It was 2+ hours long and lots of PCA members there (Charlie & the guy who just got a Black Cayman S, forgot your name - sorry. Pizza and drinks, and one heck of a full blown tour. We started in the service area with a trio of classics 250 GTO, 275 GTB, 288 GTO, (F40 being serviced) 599 center stage then toured the engine rebuild room then to the Race Garage where 2 GT2 cars were being rebuilt, these are the cars that run in the ALMS class. An ENZO FXX (#38) was there parked next to an F1 race car and an older Ferrari & Lotus F1 race car. And while in the Race Garage they started on the Ferrari F430 GT2 cars, what a glorious sound it made! Only if you could record smell! ;P) After that we then went to the back to the Restoration & Repair Garage and what a surprise we had for us in there! Another ENZO and an ENZO Race Car all in flat black, 2 Ferrari 333SP and they started one and warmed up the engine then revved the engine to some 9600 rpms as I was standing right next to the car F333SP when happened an was watching the tach. And yes we saw 2 Ferrari 430 Scuderia (one yellow and one red), of course the paint booth and the special frame machine to repair to a high tolerance of accuracy. We got to go inside the large RISI Competizione trucks that carry the GT2 F430’s and other race cars to the track, very clean and well organized. The team members that support the GT2 cars were there and I was talking to them about the race car events and the places they go, I could have been there till they kicked me out! What a total blast I had! They even had a raffle, they gave away 2 Ferrari hats and 2 Ferrari 1” thick books! And everyone that attended got a RISI Competizione T-Shirt! Wow and added bonus!!! Anyway here are a few pictures from last night.
Thanks to PCA for such an event like this!

Thank you guys for putting on a great event! Nancy and I almost declined the invitation because we've been through the dealership and all the attached buildings before, but the tour last night was really informative, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was good seeing a few of our friends, and all the great cars. Thanks again, Guiseppe!

New Policy: Cayman Club Official Name Tags to be worn at all events.
On a serious note, it would be nice to get to know everyone easily rather than try to figure out who is who.

Bigger turn out than I had anticipated. A LOT more Cayman vehicles than I have ever seen in Houston!

Awesome event.
Loved seeing all those beautiful caymans there. I wish I had a name tag.
Supersprint, that was me you talked to. Loved the sound of your exhaust by the way when we left.
lets organize a cayman meet or something.

Nice pics JGriff. I was thinking the silver Carrera in the front/side lot was yours but couldn't remember what color you said you got. Was that it? Getting there early was definitely a plus.
