Re: Concours this weekend in Seabrook

I am thinking about it. Does anyone out there have any insight as to how the judges handle the fact that opening the engine compartment is a pain? Do they deduct the full engine component from the score? What are the key deductions that they look for on the Caymans?

Re: Concours this weekend in Seabrook

I am showing my '08 CS for the first time. My understanding is that they deduct the entire engine component if you do not show the engine. It really isn't very difficult. I did it twice last week. I will have the necessary wrenches and pry instrument and I will give you a hand if you come.

I will be there. I have entered in the last 4 concours and they do not count off for not showing your engine but they do give this one guy extra points for showing his.

Re: Concours this weekend in Seabrook

i've been to a couple, and they don't judge the engine compartment in class 7 cars (boxsters and caymans), but as mentioned charlie always opens his up and gets extra points for going "above and beyond". have fun, may see you there in the afternoon.

They will give you the full 80 points if you do not show your engine however, if you do show the engine you will be awarded 10 bonus points for your class only.

Hope this helps and hope to see you at the next years Concours.

BTW, thanks for reminding me its about time to clean that engine again
