Hart Driving School at H2R this month

Jason Hart is starting a racing school at Harris Hill Road, first date is March 27th for $300, I highly recommend him and this is a relatively cheap way to get some pro instruction and try a new track. I've worked with him once and it was very helpful, especially if you have any sort of data logger.

Re: Hart Driving School at H2R this month

I'm getting a dead link for H2R, and nothing about the school at Jason's site. I think I might be interested, any other links? Thanks.

Scott,
this one works

Harris Hill Road | News

Here's the email he sent me...I believe there are 10 drivers signed up. My Cayman is out of service so I'll be driving a piggie M3.

Hello everyone and welcome to the Jason Hart Racing School. In this program there will be classroom instruction followed by sessions on the track applying new techniques in a focused environment. The course will cover vehicle dynamics, driving techniques and the theories that encompass them from basic to advanced perspectives. There will also be corner by corner analysis of the H2R track explaining the pros and cons of the various lines that can be scribed around the track. For those with data there will be opportunities to discuss and analyze what is captured throughout the day. The objective of the course will be for all attendees to learn how to be better, safer drivers and ultimately lower their lap times. At the conclusion of each session we will debrief the experiences on the track to fully understand the application and theory of these new techniques. A catered lunch is included in the $300 enrollment of the school as well as drinks (water/soda/Gatorade) provided throughout the day. The schedule will begin at 8:45am with a classroom session and the school will conclude around 5pm. With sessions around 40mins the day is structured something like this:
8:45-9:30 Classroom (45min)
10min Break
9:40-10:20 Track
10min Break
10:30-11:10 Classroom
10min Break
11:20-12:00 Track
10min Break
12:10-12:50 Lunch
10min Break
1:00-1:40 Classroom
10min Break
1:50-2:30 Track
10min Break
2:40-3:20 Classroom
10min Break
3:30-4:10 Track
10min Break
4:20-5:00 Classroom
I recommend everyone be there by 8:30am, I will be onsite around 8am. More than likely the schedule will hold till Lunch and we will adjust from there as we see fit. There will only be 20 spots available for this program and as of this writing there are only 15 spots left. I guess I will ask the prerequisite questions for clarification, will there be one group regardless of experience or skill set......will there be corner workers and EMS services and will there be any track support for tire repair etc if necessary.......just curious but it does intrigue me.....just had a great time at Eagle Canyon this weekend and gotta have more.

I don't know. Likely none of those things, but ask Hart about it. HHR uses a wireless corner station system w/o flaggers, the track is monitored from a tower above the clubhouse. It's a fun and technical track but pretty small still compared to MSR or TWS.

Thanks, Jason did respond to my questions and EMS will be available but the rest will not. Basically he is running it like a member track day where everyone is on the track at the same time regardless of skill level of the driver.

I am okay with that but 300 bucks is a bit steep. But you are getting his subject matter expertise. A month or so back I tried to put a group of 5 CC members together to head up to Hallet and rent the track for a day and get some real seat time, but I could not get enough folks interested. If I got the 5, a full day of track time would have cost around 170 per person. Of course my idea did not have the benefit of the instruction.Kind of a poor man's version.

Re: Hart Driving School at H2R this month

I think I'm going to pass on this and wait for a regular trackday/DE at H2R. I'm sure Jason's school would be helpful and informative but I have no aspirations to race so I think I would get antsy during all the classroom sessions, I'd prefer more seat time. I really enjoyed my two demo days at that track and would love to get my JCW out on it.
