Lets talk PIWIS! (So exciting NorCal'rs)

I have not met as many of you guys as I'd like to yet, as a newish Cayman S owner. I live in San Mateo (20 miles south of SF) and am looking forward to learning more about this car.

I come from the Audi world, and invested a huge amount of time on those forums. I the Audi world, when you are looking to do things such as: Enable euro rear foglights, kill seatbelt chime, tighten up power steering, turn your keyfob into a remote window opener/closer etc.. This was called a VAGCOM device. Is the equivalent of a VAGCOM, the PIWIS? Does anyone in the Bay Area have one? Would they be willing to bring it to a GTG? Where online can you find the "enable or disable" function codes for this device?

TIA you Cayman people, you.

For starters, you want the Durametric diagnostic software at Durametric Software Diagnostic Tools

Last I heard, the PIWIS is very expensive, like $15K or so, and you have to pay a monthly fee and for updates. All dealers have them, but few, if any independent shops or private citizens have them. The Durametric will do some of these things... but mostly it diagnoses and clears some trouble codes.
