Dealer Service Loaner Cars
Just wondering in the SF Bay Area, what dealers give what type of loaners.. My gf is pretty bummed she can't drive my CS ( doesn't know how to drive a stick ) so i was hoping to bring my car to service at a dealer that gave out auto boxsters or something at the least..
Here's the ones i know so far
Fremont - Enterprise Rentals ( mostly merc c-class )
Livermore - Audi's
Here's the ones i pass or would be willing to travel to
Sonnen
Rector
Stevens Creek
Walnut Creek
Redwood City
Mountain View
thanks!

Re: Dealer Service Loaner Cars
There's no Porsche dealer in Mountain View. The dealers on the peninsula are Carlsen, in Redwood City and Rector, in Burlingame.

Re: Dealer Service Loaner Cars
Although I'm not in your area, my local dealer does give out Cayman(S)'s with the Tiptronic and I've also recieved a Cayenne S titanium edition when I had the 20K serivce. However it was restricted to 4K rpm's...

Re: Dealer Service Loaner Cars
A neighbor of mine was given a base Cayenne by Carlsen in Redwood City while their Cayenne Turbo was in their shop. I haven't had my CS in for service yet, so I don't know what other loaners Carlsen might have.
But - +1 on teaching the gf how to drive a stick.

Re: Dealer Service Loaner Cars
Porsche of Orlando has Boxster, Cayman, Cayman S, Cayenne and 1 08 911. I believe you can only get a loner if you purchased your car from them. Also I think most of them are automatics.

Re: Dealer Service Loaner Cars
i've had a Cayman and a Boxster from Carlsen - just schedule your appointment in advance and be sure to ask for a car when you do. i DID NOT buy my Cayman from Carlsen, but they treat me #1 anyhoo.
i'll buy my next Porsche from them, for sure.

Re: Dealer Service Loaner Cars
I do fully intend on teaching her how to drive stick, but I don't have another stick shift car to teach her in... (if anyone knows any rental companies that rents manual transmission in the bay area that'd be very helpful as well)
thanks for the info tho i'll be making my next appointment at carlsen

If you have a good friend that has a Honda with a manual transmission, see if they'll loan you the car for a day. I've taught many of my friend's kids to drive a stick (that way the parent/child relationship tends to survive better) and Hondas imo, are the easiest to teach someone with.
