Best Auto Detailer in Los Angeles Area ?

Hi guys. My car has swirl marks and possibly deep water marks. I don't have enough experience to use polish or a buffer. I need to take my car to someone who knows what they're doing. So what is the best exterior detail shop in the Los Angeles area.

Been going to Mr. Polish for about 8 years and 3 cars...my parents for considerably longer and even more cars...Chick, the owner, has had a few locations over the years... Check him out right by the 10Fwy, Venice and La Cienega, near Globe Motorsports.

Sorry I don't hang around here much, but yes, I'm still a sponsor and have been since 2007. I've got a new 10,000 SF shop in Anaheim and we do highend body, paint, custom mods and fabrication, as well as the same paint polishing that people have come to know me by.

I just worked on a Cayman S last week that looked very good from the dealer, but the owner wanted it perfect, so that's what I delivered after two days of work.

Hey Octane Guy, thanks for the update.

I've been meaning to get my car detailed too. Also I have a tiny ding on my door, father in law dented it when opening another car door in the garage does your shop also handle that?

PDR?? Absolutely! I've got one of the most talented PDR guys around. My traveling schedule is kind of hectic. I'm leaving to Hong Kong on Monday night..got one Porsche coming in tomorrow and Friday...then no more details for a week while I'm out of the country. I'm back November 3 until November 20, then I'm out of the country again through December 15. I'm open 6 days a week though..give me a call or PM me and we can schedule something.

Re: Best Auto Detailer in Los Angeles Area ?

Had my car detailed by Richard/Octaneguy last month. He did an okay job on it.

However I'd steer well clear of 'OC Rod n Customs' he's sharing the space with for any body work. Had a little ding above my rear wheel arch and also a deep 2 inch scratch from road debris on my front bumper. After seeing some hot rod body panel work and claims about how they are perfectionist, strong endorsement from Richard, I decided to have them take care of my body work the same time as my car was being detailed.

When I picked up my car overall I was probably too mesmerized by how shiny my car looked after the detail and did no spend enough time inspecting the car. I found a little surface imperfection on the newly sprayed rear arch which they took care of while I waited. After arriving home I inspected the car further under the sun and found all the following problems.

1. Filler for the dent was not properly sanded smooth and was left uneven.
2. Drip marks about a foot away from dented area. A small ring of pinhole indentations on the body, looked like something marked it while the paint was drying.
3. Visible uneven spray feathering in the repainted area on the rear wheel arch.
4. Clear coat overspray on my black rubber trim around the window and near the roofline.
5. Also they didn't remove the factory clear protective film near the rear wheel before spraying and new paint is now connected to the top section of the film's border. Going to be a mess when the films needs to be replaced.
6. Drip marks on my front bumper a couple of inches from the area of repair.

Left a message with OC Rod n Customs a few days after I picked up the car for them to schedule time to fix the problems but never heard back from them. In hindsight, it was horrible judgment on my part entrusting my baby to an unproven body shop. These repairs now cause me more heartache than the damages before.

After I recover from my Christmas expenditures will probably bring my car over to Avio's or Golder Hammer to have the 'repaired' areas fixed and resprayed again....

Wow....PM sent. For the record, I was told that Lin was going to call you or called you to bring the car back into the shop and it wasn't a problem to correct anything you weren't happy with. As you knew, I was headed out of the country to get married and was going to be gone for a month. I'm sorry you had such an unhappy experience. That certainly isn't typical.
