2009 Porsche Parade

Is anyone from the Western Region considering driving over to Keystone, CO for the 2009 Porsche Parade?

Re: 2009 Porsche Parade

Yellow Bird,

I am planning to register this week when it opens. My wife and I are going for "vacation" - great excuse! "Beez" indicated to me a while ago that there would be several people from the Nor Cal area that would be going although I don't know that they are CC members. Such a caravan would probably stop at Delta, UT for an overnighter. Are you coming through Reno/Tahoe or Las Vegas to get to Keystone?

Craig

I registered just waiting for the conformation. I will be driving, not sure of the route yet.

Re: 2009 Porsche Parade

Assuming you live in the northern part of California/NV, and you want to only drive 2 days to get to Parade, there's only two real options I can think of: I-80 through Reno to SLC then cut over to I-70 to go through Grand Junction, CO and then on to Keystone. The other route is to take US 50 (or 88) to South Lake Tahoe through Carson City to Fallon and on to Ely and I-70. The mileage doesn't vary that much and the driving speed is about the same (once you're in the middle of NV, speed is relative). We've driven the US 50 route last summer as part of the SNR's Loneliest Road Tour (a great time btw). Just something to consider depending on when people are planning on going.

Re: 2009 Porsche Parade

Anyone want to share a Cabin rental in Keystone?

There are some really nice ones we can get during this time, and with 2 -3 couples. We can get it to about $100-$130 a night for a nice 4000+ SQ ft cabin.

Regards,

D
