Greetings!

My neighbor recruited me, and I'm hoping to draft a few of my fellow Caymanites and Porschephiles to show their beautiful cars at the 2nd Annual Cadence Car Show, a fundraiser for West Valley Community Services .

The event is Thursday, May 21st from 11:30am to 2:30pm in the Cadence Main Campus Parking lot.

The entry fee is $20/vehicle, $5/spectator.

Here's the blurb from the sponsor:

Hi everyone! I wanted to send out the poster for our upcoming Car Show taking place on Thursday, May 21st, to benefit the West Valley Mobile Food Pantry – who is this year’s beneficiary of Cadence annual company-wide fundraiser. This year on the same day as our car show, we’re aligned with several other big events happening (volleyball & basketball finals, putting challenge, KRTY will be here with their Thunder Truck, carnival-style games will be set up, and also we’re expecting to be blessed with the presence of current and past 49ers, as well as the Gold Rush Cheerleaders – so it should be an AWESOME event!

They'll be happy to set aside space for us as a group and we can arrive any time after 9am. Let me know if you have any other questions about the event and I'll get them answered.

Happy birthday in advance! I'm sorry you can't make it. Having the event on a Thursday may put a bit of a damper on participation in general. I'm looking at it partly as a networking opportunity, as well as supporting a good cause. Heaven knows, the nonprofits need all the help they can get right now!

debwolfe, I'd love to attend/participate given the location (i live a few miles up the road), but a midweek event in the middle of the work day is tough to make. I tried to move a few appts around, but can't make Thursday work...please keep us informed of any upcoming events and I look forward to showing up in my new 2009 sometime soon. Enjoy the show.

Thanks, Dave! I appreciate the effort. This midweek thing is a little weird and I knew going in that getting a group together would be a longshot. But, we've got me, Cold Croc, and my instigator neighbor with his 911 Turbo, so I think we'll have fun.

Rest assured, I'll plan something that you and your new '09 can attend!

Cold Croc, I saw the post for the June 6th rallye last month, but unfortunately I have a corporate golf tournament that weekend in San Diego. I plan on going to the Livery in Danville this weekend for the wash and shine (I think its a PCA event), and possibly the new PCA member BBQ.

Four pretty Porsches graced the Cadence parking lot with their presence today: 2 Cayman Ss courtesy Cold Croc and myself, one 986, and one 996 TT.

Trophies were awarded in 4 categories:

Classic Car - the '62 Corvette Convertible
Muscle Car - the blue '65 Mustang
Y2K+ Imports - my neighbor's '01 Porsche 911 twin turbo
Best in show - the Kaiser Frazer Henry J coupe

And $1650 was raised for the West Valley Community Services.
