Anybody from Newport Beach? Need a favor

Am on the final negotiations to buy a white/black Cayman S from Newport Beach Porsche. I live in El Paso, TX, and would pay and ship the car without checking it, but would really appreciate if somebody who lives close could quickly give the car an easy ride and make sure the engine doesn't tick more than normal when hot, and that everything works well.

Closest dealer is 300 miles away, so even a stupidity like a bad tire, or something that doesn't work properly can turn into a major PITA. And yes, this car will have new wheels because 'somebody' sold the stock 19s the car had from the factory (glad I asked for recent pictures). Thank you folks.

Sorry--I can't help. But, if you don't get any takers here, you could join PCA and expand your search for help.

Re: Anybody from Newport Beach? Need a favor

A bit of advice. Instead of the shotgun approach you have been using asking for people to look at cars and "almost" pulling the trigger on a number of different cars find a deal you feel comfortable with and spend a few hundred bucks and go check it out yourself. Not many people know what "ticking more than normal" means to you and don't want the responsibly of recommending something to a non definable benchmark. If, as you posted earlier you have to wait on your wife's approval after riding in the car and that it will be months before she can do that I'm not sure anyone wants to invest the time and personal risk anyway. If you find the deal you want invest in the small stuff like both of you going and checking it out and getting a dealer analysis (not the one selling the car) and you will be fine.

Re: Anybody from Newport Beach? Need a favor

If I posted this is because I'm ready to buy FYI. Geez. Didn't know I had to keep you informed of my progress. And I was obviously trusting the judgment of a current Porsche owner on how the engine should sound.

I NEED to find another board. Just delete this damn post, as you killed it already (thanks). Just going to read from now on.

No we need to keep these multiple requests recorded. If you really are a serious buyer a few hundred dollars spent making sure you have found the perfect car for you is nothing. Good deals are around and now is a perfect time for real buyers. Good luck.
