Porsche Warranty on non-Porsche sourced used car
Hi guys and gals, - UK specific question:
I'm considered a Cayman S, and my nearby OPCs prices aren't coming down at the same rate as local independent specialists. So I go with the cheaper (better value? option). However, my main concern in buying from a non-Porsche dealer is the difference in warranties.
I'm happy to pay for a proper Porsche warranty (I know, there are some of you who disagree with the economics of that), but i'm getting given FUD by my local OPC salesman....mainly because he wants me to buy from him i'm sure. He told me that it used to be the case that if your car had a FPSH and passed the 111-point checks it could be put onto the Porsche warranty, even if it had lapsed.
Then he said that the situation has now changed and it isn't possible anymore. Does anyone know the truth of it, or where I might find it?
Also - does anyone know what the chances are on an OPC discount at the moment and how much? I saw one guy on here got about 6% off a £37k CS and an extra years warranty thrown in - any other stories you know of?
Cheers guys, hoping to join the club in the next couple of weeks.
Rob
